I represent people when they are arrested and at a police station and very rarely do I see them laughing or smiling. It is very boring as you are taken into custody, booked in, and then made to sit in a small dank cell for anything up to 4 hours before you have even been questioned. You then have another few hours wait whilst the CPS try to make up their minds whether to charge you.

Once charged you had then better hope that you are given bail or you could be there until the next morning or, worse still, you could be arrested on a Saturday afternoon, charged and held at the station until Monday morning.

What japes eh?

Depends on your definition of fun.

I'm told that waking in a police cell with a huge hangover and not being quite able to remember why you're there isn't too much fun.

Also, my sources tell me that resisting arrest and being restrained or having CS gas used on you isn't the best time they've ever had.

Then there's the joy of being arrested for something serious you didn't do, or didn't mean to do, and contemplating years in prison.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

I did not go to the category but checked your question folder to answer this:

I think with a group of BFF it would be fun cause whatever they were doing they stuck together.
by ones' self it's probably terrifying.

there's a little cliche on like greeting cards:

you know you have a best friend when you're sitting in the jail and they are there with you and it's stated 'that was worth it'.

Depends on your age at the time really.

If you think it makes you look big and hard in front of your peers then yes it is fun

If your older you may find that you wished you hadnt put yourself in that position

The cells are an expeirence...The Police....well basically if you give them attitude then they will make sure it is not fun to be arrested

It must be.
I heard of people with up to 70 or more convictions...they must really love the prison food!
I wouldn't like it myself...I am an old softie anyway.
I'd say the crime part would be the fun and having a 250 pound cop wrestling you to the ground is the tough part!

no! and it less fun going to court!
especially if you havent been bailed out and you have to ride the court bus and be dressed in those nice little jumpsuits that dont fit so well and are locked into the holding cell freezing your butt off! they keep it cold to stop bacterial and viral things from flying around, its crazy! and you get horrible sandwiches and wait.. wait... wait!
not fun!

No, but much less 'fun' was being detained, for NO reason except you were Irish, under the so-called 'Prevention of Terrorism Act'.

I hear it's a great place to do a little male bonding. If you're into that sort of thing then I guess it could be fun.

Depends on your state of mind. Not for most but there is always some sad idiot who enjoys anything otherwise there would be no masochists.
