"A cook at McDonalds in Union City, Georgia was arrested and charged with reckless conduct after a "salty" hamburger was sold to a Union City police officer."
"The Union City police officer said in his report that the burger made him sick and that he believed the meat had been intentionally over salted."
"The public defender went before the judge and asked that the charges be dismissed. The judge denied his request stating that the cook might not have over salted the food on purpose, but that it was with reckless disregard that she allowed the excess salt and pepper to be added to the food."
How about those who maliciously put bodily fluids in your food with the potential of blood born virus' and other diseases!
I would hope that an employee of a fast-food or otherwise restaurant would not be so vindictive but...it's happened too often and as such I refuse to eat at some establishments.
Maybe you would sing a different tune if it were you instead!
NOTE: I think those who have emailed me directly and others who OBVIOUSLY have the inability to understand my comment....let me try it this way:
If the officer felt there was a malicious intent to alter his order because the server had it in for the cop....then I'm glad nothing else besides extra salt was put on the food.
I think a few of you need to either re-read the actual article and have a full understanding of what the complaint was. The officer had an ABNORMALLY LARGE amount of something added to his dinner that made him sick. Was this intentional...or unintentional...I don't know, however, the judge seems to think something wrong was done by the person who prepared the dinner. I'm inclined to agree with the judge.
This is an opinion....if somebody is "tainting" food when entrusted to provide a quality meal...then taints the food with a foreign substance just because they don't like cops....then they deserve to be prosecuted.

"I think they went too far with it," said Bull, who has worked at the McDonald's on Jonesboro Road for about five months. "If it was too salty, why did [the officer] not just take one bite and throw it away? Why did he take eight bites and finish it and come back later and say it made him sick?"
She said she told her supervisor and another co-worker she spilled the salt on the burger. "They tried to thump the salt off," she said.
Then she went on break and ate a burger made from the oversalted meat. "It didn't make me sick," she said.
Meanwhile, the restaurant went ahead and served the extra salty Big N' Tasty to the police officer, said Bull. A few minutes later the officer, Wendell Adams returned to the restaurant and told the manager he got sick from eating the burger.
He talked to the restaurant's manager, another employee and Bull, who admitted she spilled the salt on the burger. Bull said the officer asked her to step outside, where he continued to question her. "He told me it made him so sick it had to have something worse than salt on it," said Bull.
This is clearly a cop abusing his authority. These types of officers are always supported by "officers" who developed the you are guilty because I said so attitude. I would ask the "officer"above why Adams was investigating a case he was invovled in and why did he take Ms. Bull outside without a female officer present, and what did he do and say to her outside?

What's even worse is that the charges are not being dismissed. I understand what the one guy is saying, restaurant workers are infamous for putting gross things in food, but that's not what happened here. We're talking about salt and pepper. No blood, no loogies, nothing that could potentially kill you or infect you with a life threatening illness. When one thinks about all of the cases that are dismissed on a daily basis, all of the crimes that went down in the time that it took this cop to drive back to the McDonald's, interrogate this girl, take her to the station and fill out the paperwork (on our dime mind you), it seems more than a little excessive. Like pretty much every other person I know, I've gotten food poisoning at restaurants on more than one occasion, to the point that I wouldn't have been able to question anyone about it even if I wanted to but I never wanted anyone to go to jail over it.

The Officer did charger her and he or she replaced into arraigned and released on bail. Justice isn't contemporary in an arrest. An arrest is basically the act of bringing a charge against somebody. the lady gets her day in courtroom and could need the income of an lawyer. she will could desire to be discovered accountable previous a real looking doubt throughout her trial. If she is convicted then she would be sentenced. If she is acquitted then she would be cleared of the fees and in one hundred 12 months (in all likelihood much less) no person will keep in mind this. as quickly as all of this is declared and completed then we are in a position to talk approximately justice. I wasn't there so i visit carry my rant for later. They did deliver the burger to a criminal offense lab. the outcomes could desire to be thrilling. i like how human beings could desire to make race a controversy in this. i attempted to discover a photograph of the officer so i could desire to be certain if he replaced into white or black and could no longer whether it would be humorous if he replaced right into a black guy. i understand i needed to submit a link to his photograph so all and sundry right here could desire to end pulling enjoying cards out of the race deck.

I agree! If the Burger was too salty I would not have eaten it and maybe went back and asked for a new one. Simple. They must need the fine money!

I doubt it. I am willing to bet that Officer Wendell Adams isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He is either a racist or he had a thing for this girl.

To Officer KCV above:
I'm glad we don't have vindictive a**sholes like you in my town. If you actually agree with what the police officer did, then you are certainly agreeing with the misuse of police power.
It's time for you to get out of law enforcement. You, sir, are too dumb to exist.
