No the metal on your jeans wont set off the metal detector. The underwire can set if off but they have metal detector wands to run over the area that set off the detector.

It varies based on a number of factors. Most of which you can't control. I once observed someone set of the metal detector in traffic court with nothing but a nickel in there pocket. I then followed them in without setting of the detector. Then I noticed I had forgotten to take a roll of quarters out of my pocket. If in doubt, don't wear any metal.

Hey, if you are scared of setting off metal detectors, don't wear stuff with metal on them. Wear sweat pants, that way you won't have metal on your pants or need a belt (with a buckle). Your bra won't set off the detector. But like I said, if you are unsure, wear a sports bra.

What's the big deal if it goes off, they check you and you go right in.
