I was visiting the city of lauderdale-by- the sea and received a parking meter fine for parking in reverse in a parking meter lot.
This sounds very bogus and have been looking for such laws with no suck to see if I'am guilty of the fine,
Sincerely,
A law abiding citizen in Christ alone,
Joe

In UK law it is illegal to carry anything that could be considered an offensive weapon in public. I read of an eccentric young man who was prosecuted for carrying a walking stick in public because he did not need it and it could be used as a weapon! The police are also under a great deal of pressure to make as many weapon arrests as possible to boost their performance figures. I was with a friend in the local park when two gangs in the distance started fighting. We phoned the police. He went to his car and picked up a baseball bat and ball. The police stopped him on his way back into the park and asked him what was going on and he told them. They asked about the bat at which point he just waved the ball at them. They shrugged their shoulders knowingly and let him through. Does anybody else have any thoughts on what defensive items you can legally carry e.g. a pointed golfing umbrella on a rainy day?

I have just visited my friend who has told me that one of her family members has touched her daughters in a unappropriate way. She states that the daughters aged 11 and 17 were interviewed by the police (woman) without anyone there to support the child
I thought a adult had to be there to support, comfort and witness the interview

I work at a Tim Horton's at night.
They always have still fresh donuts that are thrown out.
My family is sick of donuts and I gained 15 lbs. working there.
I thought, hey cops like donuts. But I was afraid it might also pizz them off and they would slap the cuffs on me.

My son and some friends were riding bikes. My son, who was trying to impress his friends I'm sure... yelled out to them "man, that's an ugly f****** dog". The owner and his family (including his child) heard this. The boys continue riding down the street unaware of what's about to occur. The man gets in his truck, chasses the boys down (hitting one of them with his truck mirror) and gets out of his truck, yells and pokes/pushes my son (who is a minor). A witness calls 911. The officer (we find out) knows the man and encourages us to "drop" it and chalk it up as a lesson learned. I later find out this man does contract work for the police department. Ironically, my son gets changed with disorderly contact for saying the "f-word" but strangly enough this man isn't being charged with anything. Your thoughts?

TRUE STORY:

In Kansas City, a young black woman (employee) got arrested at a local McDonald's because she put too much salt on his hamburger and he had to be taken to the hospital. This man just so happened to be a police officer.

Now, when I first heard this on the news I was speechless and after I got over the shock I couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

Do you think she should have been arrested or do you think that the officer was abusing his power?

I am prepared for Smart-Alec comments so bring 'em on.
