Depends on which stun gun you are talking about. If you are referring to the Bulldog stun guns you see on eBay, those just make the general area where you are touched feel like a gorilla grabbed ahold and started shaking you very rapidly, while making you have think about your breathing because it causes a sharp intake of air. When it stops you are breathing heavy and a little fatigued.
If it is a Taser thne you are in for a whole different effect. Those make your entire body tense up like one big cramp. Mean while it feels like someone is taking a 4X4 and beating you endlessly along your back. You lose your balance and are standing up on your toes, if you are standing, and your arms either draw in towards your body or freeze where they are. Also it feels like someone is tightening a wire connected to your forehead and to the base of you neck forcing your shoulders to hunch up to your ears.

Charlie Fingers gave a great description of what it feels like to be hit with a Tazer LOL. That was the longest 5 seconds of my life when going thru the training. I will say this however, if given the choicew between being Tazered or Pepper Sprayed again I will take the Tazer.

I have a pacemaker and just one jolt of dc electricity is enough to cause it to burst inside my chest. So I would say anyone with the same or similar heart condition would die within moments of the initial shock.

Its just like electrocution, too much in too short of a time can kill. And prolonged electrocution can damage the body, especially the heart.

It affects everyone differently. During training, I found that it didn't hurt, I didn't scream and I didn't fall. It just felt "tingly" and I couldn't move very well.
FWIW karz, most of us that carry one have been shot by one. It's pretty much a mandated part of the training.

lol, i dunno, but I'm going to watch the answers you get. I have wanted a stun gun for a long time (I live alone; single female in college) for protection. My father said that he would get me one if I stunned myself first so I knew what it felt like. But I always heard that it could cause a heart attack, so there is no way that I do it!!

Never been hit by one but firing it is just like a normal pistol without the recoil.
