I passed the BAC of .08% could not afford to retain a lawyer so I had pleaded "No Contest" and went to Diversion class. I completed the program and now I have to wait for a year before I go back to court and the case will be dismiss. I was arrested May of this year.

Am I on probation for a year?

ian simm was convicted of the murder of helen mc court in 1988 (billinge nr wigan). even though her body has not been found to this day, the evidence against simm was overwhelming(her hair, blood and an ear ring she wore that day were found in his boot along with a spade).he has been refused parole twice and still claims to be innocent when clearly he is guilty. what reason could he have for not revealing where helens body is? maybe he is afraid of what else would be found ie. another body? is anyone familiar with this case?

On Tuesday, I went on the M-train from SF State to Powell Station. I went on, no big deal. But at the station, there were cops checking transfers. My transfer was 2 hours EXPIRED. It looked short like an extremely short transfer, so they took a second look. Of course, they write me a citation. Now it'll appear on my license because it's an infraction, not a misdemeanor.

I live with my parents, and my mom will get so angry at me if/when she finds out. I know of the courtesy mail they send you. I'm about to get the job I applied for, so I could totally pay for it. Is there any way she would not find out? How much is it, approximately?

My friend used to live in Pennsylvania, and he said that the police there rarely give tickets, but if you get caught speeding, the police give you a public, bare-bottom spanking by the side of the road! He said you get 5 whacks for every mile per hour over the speed limit you drove for the first offense, and the amount per M.P.H. doubles for each further offense! He said the police in Pennsylvania carry paddles to spank with! Is this true?

to put out a fire and after it is all said and done you find that your valuables are missing? I used to hear stories that firemen are thieves but recently I had it happen to me where I had a small basement fire. The Yonkers Fire Department showed up, extinguished the flames and left. A hours later I noticed that some of my jewerly was missing. They went through the whole house checking for what they called "extension." Anyone else have a similar story?

Not sure what to do, it is a substantial amount of jewelry that has since gone missing.

Is it possible to become seriously hearing impaired long-term if you were to shoot a pistol (I have a XD 40) indoors in the case of self-defense...obviously you wouldn't have time to put on ear protection. Or, would you be so pumped with adreneline that you're hearing would not be affected? Thx...

I was approached by an officer while in a park after hours. He asked for my Id and he ran my name. I have a suspended license so he knew this when he ran my name. He asked me if that was our vehicle and I said yes because it was. He then told me that we could be charged for trespassing if i did not get in my vehicle and immedietly leave the park. I did as the officer said and then down the road he was waiting for me and pulled me over stating he saw my windshield cracked. at this time he mentioned oh are you the fishing guys and he told me to get out of the vehicle and without asking me for my id or registration or prove of insurance he putt me in cuffs and said I was going to jail for driving on a suspended license. I had insurance at the time and it was not even something he asked me and i was charged for this as well. Did the officer have a right to insist i do something that he then turned around and arrested me for?

I got into a fight with this kid and got my tooth chipped from it. Subsequently, I came home and lied to my parents and told them that this other kid, Erik (not his real name) did it, so my padres called the cops and I told them the lie.

Eventually, one of my boys admitted that we lied and made it up and subsequently, I recanted my story.

My question is, would there be any record with the police or anyone about a fourth grader 15 years ago lying to the police regarding something like this?

I was recently pulled over for loud music and was written a ticket. I do agree, the music was loud and it was 2:30 in the morning... but what I want to know is how much tickets such as these usually cost? Under the description on the ticket the officer wrote, " 27007 CVC - Loud Music (50 ft)". I got the ticket in the mail and had to pay $159. Does anyone else think that is a ridiculous price to pay for an offense like that?!

This is a guy I sit next to in college. He told me the other day how he kicks his small dog .He sent me the following on our college website.

Hey,
I really don't understand what your problem is with me. The only thing I have done for you since you came this semester and I came was made you feel like you could have a friend in me. I didn't really know what to expect from you but I deffinatly did not expect this. The way you are acting is very childish and immature. If all you care about is telling nasty rumors about people then perhaps you should go back to a highschool environment. I am nearly 20 years old and do not have the time to waste on such idiocy as you telling a guy to come and talk to me about the importance of not "abusing" animals. (Which may I remind you I don't do in the first place). I should have known not to trust you. I am not a person you want to cross Cami, if you don't like me that's fine, sit far away from me in class and DONT TALK TO ME! But don't stand there like an immature little school girl and go and tell rumors about me.. Stuff about me you don't have any clue about. If your "friend" comes up to me again I will be the one taking out harrassment charges on you and him. There are better ways we can solve this other then "OH I'm going to get a boyfriend and have him come say something to Kent" Thats too childish and it needs to stop IMMEDIATLY. I have many friends in this school and you don't want to cross me. As I've said... if you don't like me sit far away from me and don't talk to me... don't even look at me... I could really give a crap less what you think of me honestly.... just know you can't afford another harrassment charge against you. Thanks alot for being a good friend.

and of course they see you and go the speed limit on a 2 lane road do you ever wat to shout "speed up a little bit!"

Or wish they would at least go 5-10 miles over the speed limit? Especially if you're on the way home and not on duty?

If I were one I think it would frustrate me to death.

How can a police agency set up a safety checkpoint and stop all vehicles that happen to be passing through that area?

The US Constitution protects Americans from unlawful search, and a recent Supreme Court decision held that a person walking down the street does not have to tell the police his or her name as long as they are not reasonably suspected of something.

So how does it follow that a governmental agency, being the police force, can stop a lawfully travelling vehicle at a random checkpoint, witout any cause or suspicion?

I believe the Supreme Court has decided that these checkpoints are legal, but I would like to know in layman's terms how being stopped by law enforcement when a person has committed no crime and is not reasonably suspected of anything can be legal?

Please don't tell me it is legal because the SCOTUS has ruled on it. The Supreme Court has been wrong countless times in US history... I want to know how the SCOTUS determined the legality in these cases.
