the main notice is "flak" jacket, a vest designed to end metallic splinters and different shrapnel from the likes of grenades and different comparable exploding shells. so particular a blackpowder projectile might probably penetrate. now if we are speaking like a in demand vest w/ point IV no longer common plates that are designed to end extreme velocity rifle rounds, i doubt it. blackpowder in simple terms would not have the pressures mandatory to create the velocities mandatory to penetrate, if it could end a .30/06 AP around i dont think of a .50 cal ball going alot slower will do from now on effectual. yet in spite of if it did no longer penetrate some thing with that plenty mass will particularly much truthfully nonetheless reason extreme trauma:broken ribs, ruptured organs, ect...

Some of us do carry for our protection and will get bullet proof vests soon as it is financially feasible to do so. I am one of those people for it is my job to carry fire arms. I work as a security guard in Las Vegas and some of the places I stand watch are very bad. Before that, I was issued such things for my job and protection. I was in the military. If I was deployed, I would most certainty believe my enemies would have guns too for they would use them to shoot at me.

No. You hear the "horror stories" of the pitfalls of gun ownership far too often. True enough I will grant you. Owning a gun is a serious business and it often is not afforded the respect it deserves. But until all of the guns on the street are accounted for...it is every citizens right to defend themselves. Ah well.....I am biker whose mother owns a mini gun...(a gift from her eldest son in preparation for "Y2K"...hahahaa)
I reckon i am biased......laughing..

Some do. But it's called body armor, not a flack jacket. a flack jacket will not stop a bullet.

There probably are a few out there who live in a body armor vest...just as there are those who believe that nothing bad can EVER happen to them: both are a teensy extreme.
And the world IS that dangerous...somewhere, sometimes.

Haven't you heard?
Flak jackets (the correct spelling) are only good for stopping flak. If you want to stop flak, go up in a plane and have someone shoot antiaircraft rounds at you.
If you mean body armor, the police have it, but for most states it is illegal for a civilian to posess. (Might use during commission of a crime, to keep police from shooting you DEAD).

Do you know how hard it is to get a flak jacket. Hell, even our own army doesn't have any, and they're in a war right now.
But guns, that's easy. Go ask your kid where you can get a gun, you can be fairly certain he knows where to go.
Got to go with the easy choice there.

what are you some gun grabbing commie or what? I realize a few people are stupid , but you insinuate all gun owners are, and I feel the gun grabbers are stupid as they like the rest of us owe what little freedom we have left to our guns, but, I can also guarantee you and some others will come up with so B.S that has nothing to do with gun owner ship to try and make your position real.
