We are planning a roadtrip this spring for 5 people if 2 of us to not drink and take turns driving, can everyone else in the RV enjoy some beer? going from St. Louis to Deadwood South Dakota

Definitely would have to check every local and state law that you are going across, some places have different ordinances that could get you an open container charge.

However as long as there isn't an intense odor coming from the RV I don't think anyone would be searching the vehicle to see if you have open containers.

Most states have exceptions to open container laws for RVs. I'm not sure if all do or not. The details may vary from state to state as well.

you have to check EACH states laws some say its ok if youre not driving but open container laws are tricky and might get everyone in the vehicle charged with dwi/dui even if the driver wasnt drinking

I believe that as long as the driver has access to the open alcohol (which in this case he would, you could hand it back and forth) then No.You could very well be ticketed for it.

That is a really good question. I would say to contact your local magistrate or call a police station and ask! It cant hurt.

yes you should be fine. just don't throw bottles out the windows or be disorderly in the vehicle or distract the drivers and you will be fine!

you can be drunk, but you cant have any open containers or be drinking while the motor vehicle is moving.
