and of course they see you and go the speed limit on a 2 lane road do you ever wat to shout "speed up a little bit!"
Or wish they would at least go 5-10 miles over the speed limit? Especially if you're on the way home and not on duty?
If I were one I think it would frustrate me to death.

Thanks for the answers! I always thought that if a cop is right on your tail and he's not lighting you up it means GET OUT OF THE WAY! But I see so many people who don't get it.

most cops arent even paying attention. they are busy eating donuts and looking at women and young girl behinds as they walk by.

Forget off duty. How about when we are trying to get to a call that is not quite important enough to turn on the emergency lights, but one I need to get to. I wish I could let drivers know I am not at all interested in a speeder right now and just want to get down the road.

As an ex-state trooper, I found doing the speed limit backs up traffic pretty quick. I would either drive well under the limit to make it easy to pass, or pull off frequently.

It is one of the biggest thing that gets to me.
Often I'm trying to get somewhere fast, and there's some Q-Tip in front of me who just won't get out of the way or speed up. Often its a "non-emergency" where someone's life isn't in danger, but I still need to get there fast so I can't drive code (lights and sirens). I just have to sit behind them, getting "upset"....

Unless I'm on the way to a priority, not emergency call I couldn't care less. I usually drive 5mph under the limit when I'm on patrol, allows me to see more and make sharp maneuvers more easily if needed.

lol ... Love the question! The other day my husband and I left the house. He was ahead of me in his unit, and I was behind him in our family car. We pulled out behind this truck. The speed limit on that street is 35mph. We were doing 15 mph. I called my husband up on his cell, and was like "Can you turn off somewhere please??? I don't want to drive 15 mph all the way to the store." My husband just laughed because he deals with the super slow drivers all the time. So my husband flashed his lights to tell me bye and turned down another street. I was like "Baby, you probably just scared the crap outta that guy!" Made me laugh though! :)

I just wish they would move. People just don't understand the job and are too worried that the cop is after them when 99% of the time they are not and enroute to a call.

i wish cops had a way of signaling that they were off duty so people could know. it sucks when a cop is on the freeway and nobody wants to pass him
