I was recently pulled over for loud music and was written a ticket. I do agree, the music was loud and it was 2:30 in the morning... but what I want to know is how much tickets such as these usually cost? Under the description on the ticket the officer wrote, " 27007 CVC - Loud Music (50 ft)". I got the ticket in the mail and had to pay $159. Does anyone else think that is a ridiculous price to pay for an offense like that?!

That sounds about right for California. If violating the carpool lane is $300, I think $159 for loud music is reasonable.

It just depends on where you are. I'd say $159 is just about right. In my city, there is one officer in particular who LOVES to write those sorts of tickets. I'm married to an officer in that city and even I won't listen to music loudly because that dude is such an a*hole

I hope you will never blast your music again. The fine can be as high as anyone wants to make it because I cannot STAND inconsiderate people like you. I don't want to hear your crappy music going down the street. Especially at 230am. Are you that desperate for attention that you have to attract it with noise? No it's not a ridiculous price to pay. Don't ever do it again and tell your friends.

It's probably a standard misdemeanor fine. All fines are ridiculously high. Some police depts can take your loud stereo...look on the bright side.

Oh...do you have Sara's number?

I have felt my house shake from people's bass from their car driving by.. I don't think that's unreasonable. The world doesn't need to hear your music.

Yeah, with fees and the fine itself, that sounds about right. Don't insult Sarah. You asked a question, she answered it and if you can't stand criticism, go listen to your radio, cry baby.

they make it high so you really think about doing it again. imagine $585 for throwing one cig butt out the window. that happened to my friend and I said to him maybe its time to stop smoking now.
