Whenever I am in a car it's on. When I'm driving, the car doesn't move until everyone is wearing theirs. And it saved my life a few years ago when I was hit by another car on the freeway and rolled side over side several times. I walked away, and the paramedics said that if I hadn't had my seatbelt on, I would have had a broken neck and probably have been dead, or at least paralyzed for life.
In addition, I believe RKO is an idiot for not wearing his/hers. Granted, I feel sorry for the sister dying, but those accidents where not wearing a belt are MUCH rarer than the ones where wearing it will help. If you want to know exactly why you should wear your belt, see if you can spend a day in an emergency room seeing the result of accidents where people haven't worn theirs. My father is a doctor, so I have seen, and it isn't pretty. I could start ranting about the absolute stupidity of not wearing your seatbelt, but I will simply write it off to natural selection.

I've worn my seatbelt long before anybody thought of making it a law, even in my own driveway. I simply feel naked without it. And if somebody else is in my car, it doesn't start moving until he/she puts it on too. But I believe seatbelt use is a personal responsibility, and it's kind of stupid for the government to be acting like such a nanny state by punishing people just for not looking after their own safety. If somebody wants to be stupid, that should be his own business. I say let the insurance companies handle it. If somebody gets into an accident and gets hurt because his seatbelt wasn't worn, they should simply jack up his insurance rates for a period of time. Such a rule would guarantee compliance as it would hit people squarely in the wallet for not wearing their seatbelts, but preserve individual choice and keep Big Brother out of our lives.

I wear it just cause if I dont it is I that is allowing an officer good reason to just stop me
But when I get to places where I can - I disengage it
Fortunately I live on a private road so from my house to the main road I get to drive without it every time I drive
and I do frequent other 'private' places where I can also drive in freedom
buy not often enough

Honestly? Every time I get in any vehicle. I've been in accidents over the years, when I was driving and when I wasn't. The belt is there for a reason. I use it.
P.S. The only accident that was my fault was when I swerved to avoid hitting a dog. No other vehicles involved, that goodness.

99% of the time. Sometimes if I'm making a bunch of stops right after another I'll not put it back on. But after having numerous friends die in car wrecks, I made it a habit to always wear it.

I have not forgotten to wear my seatbelt for over 10 years and will never forget because I lost a good friend who would have survived a car crash several years ago had he wore one.

Ever since the law was passed I have worn my seat belt. I hardly ever did before though. I dont always wear it to go up the street to my sons grandparents. Its in the same neighborhood and I dont go on main streets. But I always buckle my kid!!
They do theses "click it or ticket" things here where they look for non seat belt wearers. They hand out mass tickets. Not for me though!!!

I have power shoulder belts in my car and they are so cool cause its always on and you dont have to actually put it on. I never use the lap part but it dont really matter cuz the cops cant see it unless they pull you over.

I wear one every time I am in a car, whether a passenger or the driver. Oddly enough though, I do now wear one in taxis and they are some of the scariest drivers!

I always wear mine,lol
But every once in a while, I might forget to put it on. But, I do eventually.
However, when I'm out with my friends, we always forget to wear our seat belt, lol Then, one of us ends up remembering.
