I have only been here for a day or two and have already been annoyed to the point that I have to say something. A lot of people on here ask questions about what will happen to them after they have been arrested or charged with a crime. Instead of lecturing people about the evils of DUI, battering people, etc. why not just answer their question and say, "you will most likely get probation/10 years/life" or whatever the case may be instead of getting up on your high horse and acting as though you live like Jesus. You don't. I understand many people here are law enforcement officers and I understand that it may irritate you that people are asking stupid questions or looking for loopholes (which their lawyer will do anyway). If you don't like the question, move on. It is not helpful to anyone when you answer a question with "you got caught, deal with it. Go to AA and stop crying." People just want to know what will happen or if they can take any action, sorry they aren'tas smart as u

I heard there is a written test, not the one you answer like 1000 questions, its a written one. Is there one and if there is what is it about? Is it hard?

Let me first say I have the utmost respect for the law and law enforcement....but I was just wondering, if your friends getting arrested and you feel the cop is being brutal or excessive, is it wrong to join in and try and stop the cop??? I know that legally its wrong, but don't you have a moral obligation to assist your buddy, if you feel he is in harms way???

I know situations like this are few and far between

About 3 weeks ago a friend of mine had an AOL convo and the person he was talkin to said they were gonna gove his IP adress to the police. Nothing happened to my buddy for 3 weeks. But thursday afternoon, in front of his neighboors house their was an investigater from the PD. My neighboor asked the investigator why he was in front of his house and he said he couldn't tell (i'd assume thats normal). This raises the question to me, is this a coincidence or should he be worried. I don't know what to tell em. On one hand why would it take 3 weeks for this and why would teh investigator stay in the car for an online/computer type of issue and not come back the next day at a different time when he maybe home? But on the other hand there aren't too many bad happenings in his neighboorhood so maybe they are looking for him. What do you guys think?

what I mean is, are my fellow officer's tired of the beauacratic BS. I have been on the job for over 5 years now and are already tired of seeing the criminals go free with a slap on the wrist and I still get scrutinized on how I made the arrest.

If he can please can someone tell me how to make this happen? I have asked police to investigat but none of them do anything about it.

Is there a firm of solicitors willing to help, apparently we cannot have legal aid, we sold our house and spent proceeds on looking after our son and are now broke.

With so many shootings, you'd thinks the police would busy chasing down criminals, in facts, they are constantly chasing little criminals like the Hot Dog sellers, cyclists in the Park and street flower sellers.

A lawyer friend of mine was surrounded by 25 policemen in London for using his video camera near buckingham palace! A policeman had wrongly told him to stop filming. He kept on and 25 police officer surrounded him and questionned him for 40 minutes for apparently being a terrorism threat... Please note that my friends is a blue eyed man with spiky blond hair and tight jeans, a typical indie kid!

I can tell you that they weren't happy when at the end of this questionning my friend also told them that with such missuse of counter terrorism ressources it was just a matter of time before somebody manages to do something really bad.

Please, spare me the paperwork excuses... If they had to do paperwork for arresting real criminals, London would be a safer place!

A civilian followed me home a few miles from work. I was in my driveway and he took my keys from me and would not let me enter my house. I tried to get out of my car and he stepped in front of me and told me to get back in. I am 5' 4", 120 lbs, he was a huge guy and I was afraid of him. He called the police, who gave me the breathalyzer and field test and they took me to jail. Can someone please advise me (preferably a lawyer) on if I have a case? Thanks
