I got arrested yesterday for carying a 12 pack of beer. It was a dumb thing to do, but I did it. I have to go to court Monday and am planning on pleading not guilty. Is this a good thing to do?
Any suggestions?

I've always heard it was better to plead not guilty then enter into a plea bargain with the prosecutor. Is this not true?

It's your right to have a hearing. I would recommend contacting an attorney and listen to his advice concerning your particular case.

Was the beer confiscated? If so, it is called Evidence and will probably be at your trial if you plead guilty. If you want adult privleges, start acting like one now and take your lumps. Pleading not guilty will be a waste of the courts time and will cost you more in the end.

Tell the truth, It will protect you. Then use better judgement, and I don't mean be sneakier...Plead guilty and get over it.My thought is if you are rationalizing...You are making the wrong choice...Allways.

Why would you plead not guilty? You ARE guilty of it, didn't you just admit? Take some responsibility for yourself and admit your mistake.
