It depends upon local laws. In most cases traffic school is offered to save on court costs and system overload. Going to court diminishes the counties savings.

That is the carrot dangled in front of the horse. If you plead in the States Atty. office prior to court date, you will probably get the school.

Otherwise, you puts down youse dime and takes youse chances.
