I think the one point everybody on the pro-choice and pro-life side on abortion should be able to agree upon is that the government should not be subsidizing the act of abortion (defined as the removal of a fetus from a pregnant woman's body and the killing of that fetus). If we are going to have legal abortion, why not require women who choose to abort their babies to pay for it themselves instead of receiving a handout from everybody else? If women can't afford the abortion, they can find a charity that will pay for it or just have their baby.

I don't think anybody wants to increase the number of abortions (afterall, we don't have enough babies being born as it is and abortion is definitely morally questionable), so why are we allowing the government to subsidize them?

Yahoo deleted my question. It was NOT offensive in any way, I just wanted to know the process in which I can get a SSN for my newborn. Is Yahoo all idiots? Do they have some guy just sitting there deleting random questions? What gives?

i am currently residing in a U.S. state where the legal age limit is 21. I have been to a lot of parties, and i have seen so many kids that are on a complete mission to destroy brain cells, because they know that they can't get this drug that often, and mostly on the weekends, and then they make some insanely ignorant decisions like to drive 20 miles home. Wasted. Do you think that if the age limit was lowered they wouldn't have so much of a pressure to consume this much at once?

My child is almost 4mth old. I was about to go back to work when he 6wks. He was in ICU after he was born. The doc. recommended for me to wait. Since he is doing much better. The doc. told me he will be fine & I can go back to work. The problem is his father. He not a man of his word. I did my best to work out a schedule with him so we both can take turn to watch the child. When I had feel he didn't want to do this. I told him I will have 1 of my friends to watch him. He told me &my friend will be under the ground. He said this morning at my place. I am thinking about not letting him come over again except to pick/drop the baby off. When he gets off of work he takes the baby to his place. I have to work also to pay my bills also. He isn’t willing to meet me half way. I don't have any family in the area. I feel like I have no other choice but to have a friend watch him. His dad say he don't want nobody to watch him. If I do get someone he might cause harm to me or them.

I have an ex-employee trying to get rehired. He worked for us when I was not in the hiring position. However, he filled out our new application and said that he had not been convicted of any felonies. When I explained to him the background check over the phone, he came clean saying that he had been convicted. His answer on the phone is contradicting his answer on the application. Any thoughts on what could happen if I do hire him without having him fill out a new application?

My brother, 24, is in the USCG. His wife of about one year, 19, is living with him and their three month old son in Missouri.

My brother was on the boat for a week, but got home a day early. Make a long story short, he caught his wife cheating with another man.

My concern is that the wife has always exhibited erratic behavior and we have reason to believe she is bipolar. I fear for the baby's safety because she may do something to the baby if she feels she's lost her life and marriage.

What can my brother do. This all happened yesterday. He's staying with a friend and she's is out of the house, probably staying with this other man.

Thanks.

Go into the room where a suicide happened to look at the blood and then make them see pictures of the body? Does the manager have the right to put his employees through that?

Like say I know a registered sex offender, but he doesn't know that I know. Can I ask him in broad daylight in front of say... a church? or a college classroom. Would he be allowed to lie and say that he is not. Or is he obligated by some sex offender law to tell the truth.

This is in Masschusetts, Suffolk County. I have proof that he cashed my money orders within two weeks of receiving them, therefore never intending to deliver the car. Is this a civil court issue? Small claims doesn't cover the total amount.

I just moved to Texas better jobs than in Seattle. I have to pay 8 tolls a day just for work and more for personal trips, I buy a house but taxes are crazy high 3 times what they are in other places easily and usually you get tax assessed at least 100K more than the real worth by far which means 200 or 300 more a month in taxes. Fees for police tickets just raised $100 across the board and the police have a reputation for abusive behavior I hear. Other states charge less and offer the same services and roadways etc...

So there is some background, here is my question again.
What am I paying for, why do I need to pay the state government $1000 a month if I want a house, or even a couple hundred if I want to rent. Where is all this money going??? I wish the comproller would answer, I would like to know if she feels she is a crook?

On one hand it has its obvious benefits. People from minority groups who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to get into certain schools ect. can get a great education and become productive in society, adding to their social status. All of which is a good thing.

On the other hand, you get people who abuse the system. You get privledged and rich minorities who get scholarships and preferential entrance based on the fact that they are minorities and based on the fact that they are disadvantaged.

I've always thought that it would be better to means test these things rather than automatically assume someone is disadvantaged because they are a minority.

What do you think?
