We only have elections for homecoming queen, the guide lines say it must be a female student. we however do not have a free election of homecoming king. we have a fund raiser call Mr Wildcat, in which the winner is the one who receives the most monetary donations, therefore not everyone in the school gets to place their votes. there is not any set limit to how much one can give, therefore all "votes" are not equal. it is also not sponsored by the school but by the cheerleaders, whom get to keep the money. is this legal? do i have a argument to run? would a lawyer help me fight this case of sexist inequalities?

She successfully sued another neighbor for $500 4 or 5 years ago for a similar incident and did not replace the disputed section of fence.
There is some discoloration on the post, but it is not significant, and cannot be seen from more that 10 ft.
the post is a 2.5" in vinyl post that is very close to a cedar fence that I am responsible for maintaining.
She recently also stained her section of the wooden fence and got stain on the back side of the vinyl post.
She wouldn't tell us what color stain they used so we had to guess and we ended up with a lighter color.
The vinyl fence is at least four years old and has discoloration in other areas. She placed a note in our mail box with a quote for $200, and asked us to "remit" the amount. She spelled our name wrong and did not use a stamp or the mail service.
We expect she will take the case to small claims court as she did in the past.

In the case of Pope v. US, a friend of the mother of baby stood by as the mother, who was disturbed by religious fanaticism, beat her baby. after the beating, the friend took the mother to church and returned to her home with her where the baby was found dead.

In the US , there is no legal duty to rescue another from harm... the good samaritan law only protects rescuers from prosecution for harmful consequences from good faith actions.

BUT ,, the friend could have done the minimum effort of calling the police or speaking out to discourage the mom. Shouldn't we have a duty to do something that requires minimal effort relative to the seriousness of harm???. I would agree we don't have a duty to prevent the harm by putting ourselves in danger.... BUT shouldn't we at least have a duty to call police if we witness another in danger of bodily injury.

What is the legal reasoning for not criminalizing a failure to act with minimum duty of care???

I was a cop; and there is no secret that alot of child offenders come out of prison and become REPEAT OFFENDERS (I'm specificially talking about the sexual offenders!).
I believe that it is too soon to know if an INMATE is "rehabilitated" just after release from prison. I believe they should be HOUSED in a "transiitional housing"~~somewhere in the desert away from people~~ for ONE YEAR "AFTER" THEIR RELEASE FROM PRISON, for further evaluation, PRIOR TO them moving into neighborhoods where children reside. What do you think?

I have a question that I need some help on. Its for my Law class. OK, four explorers go into a cave to explore. Eventually, it caves in, and they are trapped inside for 2 weeks. Around the 2nd week, the man known as Watson decides to play dice: Loser gets killed and eaten. After a while, when they are going to play, Watson starts to back down, but the men say he wanted to to this, he has to. Watson was the loser, so he was killed and eaten. Now, the three men are in court. What is their fate: Hanged, 6 Months of Jail, Free. It would be nice for some nice, detailed answers. Thank you!

I just received a reactivation email. It appears that the people at Yahoo!Answers actually look into reports of abuse!

On that note, I posed this question earlier. If you're not suppose to drink and drive, why do bars have parking lots?

I have a butterfly knife thats not a real knife inside, it is a very dull butter knife with no point. Since his is not a real knife, I was wondering if it still considered illegal. Part of me says it wouldn't be, but it is conceiled. I live in California (knife laws are probably different.) (Also I know its not illegal to collect, but I mean if I were to walk around with it. Thanks :)

how about the New York mayor paying poor people to take their own kids to the doctors? he is actually giving them money to do something they are supposed to do any way. Isn't it considered neglect if you don't take care of your kids? I've heard it all now, geez

The mother of my son was ordered to pay a $500 bond to the court due to her noncompliance. The order states that if she violates the visitation order, the bond will be forfeited. If she is non-compliant, does the court then get to keep the money, what would be the next step the court might take on her? Is there a time frame? Any answers would be great!!!

I'm Concerned someone might use it if they find it..What Can I do?
The SSA And Post office told me there is nothing they can do... a ******* bullshit answer, meanwhile someone is probably making fraud or screwing up my credit they just sit back and eat McDonals. WTF!!!!

I set up a montly Credit check pretty much for the rest of my life now because some Idiots apparently "cant" do anything about it..and Credits checks dont come cheap.

And even if I do find them screwing up my credit all i can do is restore my Identity but my credit will still be screwd up.

Is there a law that states an employee MUST give out a 2 wks notice prior to resignation?
My boss is making me sign a "contract/ statement" that will require me and my coworkers to give out 2 wks notice...
if I/ we decide not to sign that contract, can he fire us on the spot and does that count as illegal/ can I claim unemployment benefits?
I've tried finding answers on the web but I can't seem to find any answers, so if anyone can give me some real advise/ give me a website I would really appreciate it!
Thanks.

My husband and I lived in a apartment in Southern California for a year and we moved out, and the apartment was very clean no damage. We moved to Arizona, and gave them our forwarding address. They told us the day of the inspection that we should be recieving our full deposit. In the state of California they have 21 days to give us our full deposit or what they took out of it. We recieved nothing. I have been calling them, and gave them two numbers they can reach me at, they never call me back. It's been over 21 days, nothing. I contacted Tentants Legal Center and they told me to sue them, I don't know how much to sue them for considering the cost to fly out back to California, getting a lawyer, etc... I need some help.
