A co-worker of mine had a tape recorder in her pocket to record another co-worker who was yelling at her.
Is this practice allowed in the State of Florida?

My cousin was telling me that she calls 1800-GRAB-DUI every time someone drives like a moron where she lives. You don't necessarily need a plate # but it's helpful, especially on highways and in larger cities.
Let me tell you, I never knew you could do anything about the people who are driving dangerously other than gripe. Since then I've called several times, not just because I got cut off or something so simple, but for people doing things that will likely cause an accident.
Today, for example, we were in a construction zone on the highway. This jack@ss decides he can't wait through traffic so he's zipping through cars at a high rate of speed- mind you, we're all STOPPED completely. He actually drove around the orange barrels and was driving through the construction area to pass 10 or 15 cars. Either this moron was drunk or he was in one heck of a hurry. Either way, no excuse.
So, did you even know you could call and report these idiots & have you ever used the number?

My Contemporary Issues class wrote a statement on the board :
"State lawmakers have the right to make laws that are in the best interest of their citizens even if those laws violate the laws of the U.S. Constitution"
AGREE OR DISAGREE
My homework is to find 5 reason's why i disagree with the satement.
I have 2.
1. If this were an active statement a state would be able to take away our 1st Amendment-Freedom of Speech, religion, and expression. By living in that sate you would no longer have that right if the above statement were true.

2. If the states could make laws that violate or oppose the U.S. Constitution then that would violate the 14th Amendment which states that all men are to be treated equally and have the same opportunities.

Please help me and give me 3 more.

Ok, so I work in a small mortgage office. I work under three different managers (2 male and 1 female) and a broker (owner). One of the male managers, let's just call him Jerk, is a big jerk! He is a complete control freak! He makes my life at work a living hell. Everyone in the office is convinced that he has something on the owner because for some reason the owner lets him do whatever he wants. He over rides the other two managers...even the owner. So many people have quit because of him. But the owner won't fire him. He allows it and his company is downsizing because of him. He bullies all of the loan officers here. Everyone hates him here. You get the point.

Well, I am the receptionist here at the office. He HATES it when I engage in any type or form of conversation with anyone. He always "butts" in and says it's time to break it up or asks what do you have to be doing right now kind of question. Like if I am talking to my direct manager about work related stuff, he'll interrupt

If someone blocks you in and is less than one inch from your car and you have no room to get out of the spot and despite your best efforts and 20 point turn, you still slightly scuff their bumper, shouldn't that person be liable for blocking you in and preventing you from reasonably leaving? Just curious. I scuffed a bumper today and left no real damage but I left a note, but I'm pissed at them for blocking me in.

Four months ago, I was rear-ended by a taxi. It was completely his fault, and his insurance company owes me $3,500 to get my car replaced because it was totaled. My mom has been calling everyday since the accident, and the insurance person we are dealing with will not return her calls. She has even gone to their place of business requesting they give her the check. She's even called the Better Business Bureau, and they told her that there isn't much they can do! For what reason, I'm really not sure. We've gotten a lawyer, but the taxi's insurance company won't return his calls either. The guy even lied to us and told us he sent the check, but he didn't. I've been having to drive my car with a bent frame, I now need an alignment, and my tires are going bad. The accumulated stress is causing me to have troubles sleeping. PLEASE!!! Is there ANYTHING I can do???

Yesterday I recieved a letter on my door saying that I was being fined $50 for parking on the grass outside my house. The letter says that a manager saw my car parked on the grass and that I have to pay the fine or be evicted. I KNOW that I did not park my car on the grass that day nor have I ever parked on it. And the thing is that I wasnt home all day! I was at school from 7 to 3 and then went to work. I usually park my car outside my house on the curb, but sometimes there are other cars parked there and a few days ago one of those cars parked in the grass and messed it all up. There was durt on the curb and when I parked there yesterday it got on my tires. I went down to try to sort it out and the lady wasnt even nice she bitched me out and kept changing her story saying that she saw me even getting out of the car and then saying neighbors complained, but yet she cant say what time it was and I know shes lying. Is there anything I can do? Im 100% positive I didnt park on the grass.

Daily he makes remarks like hubby said i wish i had a few days off and he was speaking to someone else, and this clients response was i wish i could run ur *** off. My hubby is a perfectionist and does a well job but this guy is an ***. At times he has to walk into this mans office and the guys reponse it what r u here to quit today? Or something like u can b replaced easily. Hubby is a good strong confident worker been doing this tpe of work for 8 yrs. But he believe it is bcuz hubby sticks to his gut and doesn't call bad things good so that they will get passed. He is no way an asshole or hard to get along with he is a good guy not uptight or anything like that, but he does like to to the job right and the way it is meant to be done.

I recently got my first (maryland) speeding ticket. The cop lowered my speed from going 76 in a 55 to 64 in a 55 zone. Very nice, but still one point that I would like to try to get off. I see there is an option to go to a waiver hearing where the cop wont be there, the sole point is to impose a "sentence". Is that a better option then going to regular traffic court? I mean, I'm already going to be pleading guilty anyways...

I left my apartment because they never fixed anything, there was a mold build up in the bathroom and they painted but it was still coming back. I have allergies this year which I never had before and my cousin who has a mild case of asthma had breathing problems. The landlord said that he had the city inspect it and there is no mold problem and he will forward a copy of the report to my lawyer. I left a month before and did not pay that months rent. Should I just pay it to avoid a legal process since I might be liable for their attorney fees?

About a year ago October 2006, I helped a friend buy computer parts for her computer and fixed up for her. After much ordeal about when she could pay me back she immediately told me, "After I get my OSAP." So I waited a week and then tells me her OSAP screwed up and was late. Long story short, I asked her again every 2 months, kept on haggling her for it. Every time she'd just give me an excuse as to why she couldn't pay me, a whole bunch of sob stories. Now it's September 2007 and I've stretch my paitents far enough. What are my options to getting my money back? I don't even mind spending a little to get it back, after getting it back I don't plan on talking to her ever again.

Proofs that I have that she owes me are as follows, the receipt and date of purchase for the parts and an MSN conversation history that states that she even reconizes she owes me money. I have a friend who knows she still owes me money as well but I'm not sure how that would work in.

After reading this article about pharamcies refusing to sell based on religion:

I wanted to ask the opinion and help. Is this a valid concern, or should they be required by law to sell to anyone needing prescriptions?
