This guy is a client that my hubbies sompany is doing a job for, so he is not a boss in any way. Daily he makes remarks like hubby said i wish i had a few days off and he was speaking to someone else, and this clients response was i wish i could run ur *** off. My hubby is a perfectionist and does a well job but this guy is an ***. At times he has to walk into this mans office and the guys reponse it what r u here to quit today? Or something like u can b replaced easily. Hubby is a good strong confident worker been doing this tpe of work for 8 yrs. But he believe it is bcuz hubby sticks to his gut and doesn't call bad things good so that they will get passed. He is no way an asshole or hard to get along with he is a good guy not uptight or anything like that, but he does like to to the job right and the way it is meant to be done.

It is a large well known company and my hubby is an inspector and gets paid well and at this job site there are many clients. His company is subcontracted to this other company,so in all reallity he cannot fire him he is just a **** talker, but my question basically is would this be considered a form of harassment? He tends to critisize or demean him in front of others. My hubby by no mean is a whimp he is a Marine and he does keep his cool it is just bothering me. To have to hear that there is someone making his highpaying job a pain to go to daily.

I think your husband needs to go back to the owner of the company that he works for and explain the situation. I'm sure that the owner doesn't want him in a position where his work is being challenged daily. When the job is done, I would be willing to bet that the person you speak of, will withhold payment based upon some reason he comes up with.

Companies intentionally hire bully bosses and people that intentionally harass others so that they can run off workers that have a conscience. Most companies are scams these days that is why they intentionally hire people that have no business in the business world. They want yes men and professional hatchet men and if your husband is just a good, hard, worker with a conscience they don't want you.
Your husband needs to find out who this man's superior is and try to get him fired. That is the only way to deal with dirty people is to get the dirt out.
I was a good, honest, hard worker and everyone there liked me. I was forced to quit because the boss didn't like me. No matter what he should stick to his whits and don't quit get other people that know this guy is a jerk get some dirt on him and move him out. Guess what that boss that was over me is not there anymore because she got too many complaints against her. So there is hope for good people out there. I hope that helps.

Can they? Yes. Is there something your husband can do about it? Absolutely. Come back with something equally as hostile, ask him point blank what his problem is, or he could speak with his own supervisor about things this man has been saying and the supervisor should speak with the client, or even the client's supervisor. The guy sounds really unprofessional, like he's unhappy with something and just wants to take it out on someone instead of confronting the issue.

If your hubby were that good he'd tell the guy to **** off! Sounds like he needs the job more than he'll admit. Life is too short to work for an ***.

It certainly creates a hostile and uncomfortable work environment, but there isn't technically anything illegal about just being a jerk. Tell your hubby to complain to his actual boss about the jerk -- or to quit working for him. If he doesn't want to do any of that, he needs to suck it up and deal with it.

Probably not, but maybe he should take a dump on the clients car and, when the client's like what is this poop? he can laugh secretly knowing it was his..

Unfortunately there are no laws against being a jerk.
This type of behavior may be against company policy, but unless this guy is making physical threats, sexual advances, or racial slurs against your husband it is not against the law.

He can say whatever he wants. And your husband can tell him to go to Hell. But that would be bad client relations.
