I live in California. I haven't received a reimbursement check from the company who administers my employer's supplmental benefits program. Their records show that they issued the check, but I haven't received it. This has happened on several occasions, and the last time I was asked to absorb the stop payment fee, which I refused to do. This is a problem along with habitually losing claims (which I fax, so I can prove they received them).

Is there a legal basis for me to refuse to pay the stop payment fee? If so, can someone refer me to the code? I assume it is the sender's responsibility to ensure that the payee receives payment, but I'm not sure.

Thank you!

....as most public sector service workers are! The goverment have offered us a pay rise that is under inflation thus a effective pay cut of £600 a year. Our working conditions are some what dubious as well. The question in hand is... would the public view of nurses as generally good people turn if we went on strike or did a work to rule?"

Do you think you prefer she is alive to alleviate your suffering rather than thinking of the consequences if that beautiful child is being held and abused. I think from Maddies point she would be better in heaven where there is no suffering. Time is a great healer and yes you are both innocent of any crime I think you may have stirred up too much trouble and Portugal has a shady history on child abuduction starting right at the top of the tree.

I've often compared Bush to the likes of a mass murderer based on his lying to the public and witholding information from our legislative bodies that would have placed serious questions as to the validity of a preemptive attack.

I can't imagine how many times I have seen the same assesment and conclusion by many others here on Yahoo.

I recieved an email today from someone who disagree's, they have reported me to Yahoo and the FBI. They think I am a threat to the president and I have violated the TOS.

Did I?

Peace

I mean punishment that the law would take on towards the teen parents, such as maybe jail time or volunteer work or SOMETHING. Its not fair that adult and married parents work their ***es off to provide for their kids while these irresponsible teen parents don't work and have kids. Seriousely some people actually have taxes to pay towards things other than inconsiderate teen parents.

I just got a call from a friend with a problem; I had no idea how to help her. She has been staying at Motel 6 for the past 3 months. She went there to hide from her husband whom beat her. She just called me this is what happened Friday: She went to the office to pay her weekly rent that comes to 359.98. The front desk clerk gave her 2 cents change back. Apparently he pocketed her rent money. He’s a new guy brother to another desk clerk who’s on parole for armed robbery. The manager called her and asked her if she was going to pay or leave she said she HAS paid. She went right to the office to confront the clerk with the manager. The clerk said she did pay. She left, he told the manager that after she paid he put the money on the counter she picked it up & walked out with it. Why is he saying this Tue? She told the mngr. She was going to call the police, the mngr told her that he wouldnt do that if he was her. Now they want her to pay again or leave, what should she do?

I was given a fine for not taking driver details to police station in time, in fact i did the police just got there records wrong, but i had to go to court to sort that matter out and was told to pay £70 towards costs. i though the balance was paid but apparently! it was £20 short. unaware of this the court and bailiffs sent me notices but they didn't appear at my house.

Now the bailiffs have turns up saying notices for payment have been sent but not paid and they are asking for £170, should they not have sent legal notices by recorded delivery or have some sort of proof you received notices? what are my writes.?

My sister's FIL recently passed away and left all his possessions to his only child, my sister's husband. The thing is this, the FIL was a widower and had remarried, the new wife is now contesting the will, stating that she has legal right to all her husband's possessions.

Things with the new wife came to light after she refused to put her husband in assisted living due to his poor health, even though several doctors recommended placement. My BIL went to get his dad earlier this year to offer respite for the new wife, but she refused to allow my BIL into the home to gather items his dad would need during his (dad's) stay, only allowed him to pick up his dad and leave. She then demanded my BIL bring his father home because the dad had changed his will to reflect his son as DPOA, giving the son legal right to make health care decisions for him.

Can she win the contest of the will? Many people know how she was with money and do not want her to have any legal rights now.

Somebody recently asked a question about going on hols to the Dominican republic in Sept. I told them to think twice as its the hurrican season. But others were encouraging the person to go. If they went based on the info they received, and got injured or worse. Could the person start litigation.
I see so many wholly incorrect answers on this site that could lead to problems if taken seriously. Seems to me some people just want their 2 points regardless of the answer. Anybody else thought the same?
