Well, not being in the position of having all the details nor having the police reports or witnesses to hand, I really dont know. Isnt that what the police are supposed to find out?

i don't think the Portuguese police have helped matters. their incompetence has had a detrimental effect on Maddie and her parents and on the investigation. that's my own personal view. i ask myself about the missing half hour, if the police were so convinced there were inconsistencies in witness statements, then why has it took almost 4 mths to realise this. why after this length of time the 'vital' evidence has only been brought to light now? surely all that seems important now would have been addressed in the initial stages. why was the hire car being looked at 20 odd days after Maddie's disappearance. why was the apartment re-let to other tourists when it was a crime scene. there are so many contradictions and inconsistencies. how do they not know it was an abduction? how can they prove a murder, accidental or otherwise, without a body. things don't add up, but i don't think this proves the mccanns are guilty. it proves the Portuguese police are incompetent.

Don't know but the Portuguese Police are better in intelligence than the Scotland Yard and with tests that require some more technology is the other way round this are facts having said that if there is any incompetence from anybody will be both Portuguese and British in one matter why non of them did a Lie Detector test? wouldn't be simple quick straight enough to know any issue about them? Poor girl.

From the very begining I thought there was something dodgy about them. Whether it was intentionally or not, they had something to do with it.
1- No-one in the right mind would leave their young children unattended while on holiday.
2- Body fluids in a car after 25 days. Ok it could be that the authorities over there are strugling to make a connection, BUT the British forensics are one of the BEST in the world and it was the British whom found it.
3- The "smell of death" she said that it was because she had to work on 5 dead people before going on holiday?! Who on earth goes for a holiday, doesn't have a bath after dealing with so much death, travels abroad and still doesn't have a wash for so many days?!!!
4- A parent who's child has been "abducted" would she/he wash the thing that smells most like her child? As a parent there is no way, I could do it!!!
5- As mentioned before, I haven't seen her cry, no even once!
The excuse of no mother could do something so horrific, well there's plenty of children that are abused and misstreated by their parents, she's no different from any of them and the proof is in leaving the children alone!!!
Lets leave little Madie out for a second, the twins were at higher risk of being abducted by those people that sale children (ok you only hear these story on films but they do happen). Peodophile b......s look for younger children too!
I don't know, but just talking about it, makes me so angry. Lets just hope justice is done for the sake of little Madie and all children that are at risk.

I think that the McCanns can only be found guilty of leaving thier children sleeping on thier own instead of hiring the babysitting service and I think thier guilt is for everyone to see because they have paid the price. However, I think now that blood has been found in a car they rented 25 days after the child dissappeared means that maybe the car hire firm should be investigated.
After everything they have been through I don't think prosecution could make them feel any worse than they already do.
The sister of Gerry McCann said that the focus has to return to finding Madelaine and she is right. Wait until she is found & then start scrutinising the parents as to whether they are guilty or not.

If the Portuguese police are finding this strange case as puzzling as many of us then they have my fullest sympathy!
They really got it badly wrong at first but, to be fair, child abduction is virtually unheard of in Portugal so I suppose they just consider that at the start. I have no idea whether the McCanns are guilty or innocent. Every account seems to conflict with the next one so none of us really have much of a clue.

Probably guilty. At least of neglect. Who leaves their children unattended under the age of 7? Even if the kids were sleeping and the parents were just down in the lobby, that is not right. Something is really off with this scenario.

Personally, i think they are guilty, and that is just from reading their body language (i mean, have you even seen the woman cry? because i haven't seen her even look slightly upset). As for the police, it's difficult to say, because of the secrecy surrounding the portuguese system.
Whatever the verdict on them, however, I hope social services take the twins away, and investigate these other medical professionals who also leave their children alone while they go out for dinner.
