I had a little run-in with the cops when I was younger...some kids I was with smashed a window and stole liqour out of a liquor store....I snitched on them, and was let go with no charges against me....I made a statement with the detectives....but I was fingerprinted, so does this mean I need to expunge this? no employers will hire me because of this? I've had background checks but that never came up I dont think...anyone know?

Were you actually arrested but had no charges filed against you, or if charges were filed, where they dismissed? If you were actually arrested, the arrest could still show on a background search, depending on the level of search and how thorough the search is.

You can request to have the arrest expunged.

If your fingerprints are on record, and they probably are not at this point, there will be no record attached if the cahrges were dropped. There should be no reason for such a thing to come up on a background check. If it ever does, you can explain the situation easily enough.

You were not charges so there is nothing to expunge. You still have a clean record. Being fingerprinted is a standard procedure for processing.

No charges, no court case, no plea agreement, no conviction, no record...no need to tell.
