When my ex boyfriend and I started dating, he got a 1 year memebership to a gym in our area. Since I went with him, he put me on the membership as a spouse. He paid for the membership and all the contract and payments are in his name; I was only on the contracts as the spouse. That was in Sept 2005. We broke up in October of 2006. He called me today (2007) stating that the gym payments when in default and on his credit report and I owed him for half the payment. I never knew anything about the payments nor if he was still paying on it because he NEVER mentioned it. Now that we have broke up and we both have moved on, he is trying to come back in my life attempting to charge me for things he did for me when we were dating. He also wants to take me to small claims court for $100 of the defaulted gym payment. I didn't even know I owed anything. Am I liable for paying this or anything he is charging me for while we were dating?

So the topic of the debate was....Is it wrong to not care about people in Africa when there are people suffering in the U.S.

I responded, "There is no wrong or right, you can care or not care about anything you choose."

So some guy quotes me and says this because my sig plainly points out I'm a christian, "This coming from a Christian??

Someone needs to get in touch with Jesus a bit more often if they think there is no right and wrong and that caring about your fellow man, or not caring about him, is the same either way."

Please help me think of a good rebuttal and I'll give you 10 points!:)

I'm presuming this is a really complicated process, and I don't actually have any laws I want to change (with the exemption of certain marriage laws!) but say, a law is really stupid or outdated - whose attention would I bring the matter to? I live in England.

I have spoken to numerous married folks who got divorced to get out from under the marriage penalty. Who do they speak to to get this resolved. One is disabled and gets the bulk of the income, the other gets SSI for cancer/depression/ and gets a ridiculous amount of money. What are the ramifications if they divorce to increase the income.

A criminal and was threatening David. What kind of world have we made when we have the cure for an illiniess that we punish the cure.

Golaiths death was good thing and an act that may have to be repeated throw life as you meet more thiefs and criminals, plus if that person is dead they can not re-offend.

But what is weird is in today's soceity David would be punished, why is that?

Earlier today I parked at blockbuster in Tamworth. I run around the corner to use a cashpoint, come back and find a ticket on my car demanding £70.50. I've tried calling the company, AS SECURI-T LTD, and every time I ask for information on the ticket they merely say that they will take me to court and hang up, so obviously these people have no customer service skills to speak off. Basically I don't want to let this get to court, and I don't want to pay the extortionate fee they're trying to fleese out of me. Help!!!!

When I was nineteen, my mother and her husband purchased a house in my name (they both had wrecked credit). I was basically told "If you're living at home, it's the least you can do." I moved out two years ago to get married, and last year I convinced them to move into a smaller house so my wife and I could take this one (we couldn't get financed on anything else because of this house being on my credit report). Now, my mother's husband has decided to change his mind. He claims that "I paid bills on the house (it was financed) for seven years! I have legal right!" My thought is "The house is in my name, and I have the shoddy credit to prove it. He lost any rights when he moved out." Does he legally have any rights to the house? All financing is in my name alone.

Evangelical leader says Giuliani's divorce a problem
POSTED: 8:02 a.m. EST, March 7, 2007

Story Highlights• Southern Baptist leader says evangelicals have major doubts about Rudy Giuliani
• Richard Land cites GOP presidential hopeful's bitter divorce from second wife
• Land says Giuliani 'publicly humiliated' former wife, children
• Giuliani has been married three times; first marriage was annulled

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- A Southern Baptist leader said Tuesday that evangelical voters might tolerate a divorced presidential candidate, but they have deep doubts about GOP hopeful Rudy Giuliani, who has been married three times.

Richard Land, head of public policy for the Southern Baptist Convention, told The Associated Press that evangelicals believe the former New York City mayor showed a lack of character during his divorce from his second wife, television personality Donna Hanover.

"I mean, this is divorce on steroids," Land said. "To publicly humiliate your wife in that way, and your children. That's rough. I think that's going to be an awfully hard sell, even if he weren't pro-choice and pro-gun control."

Giuliani married his longtime companion, Judith Nathan, in 2003. They had dated publicly while Giuliani was married to Hanover. His first marriage ended in an annulment.

My teenage daughter & her friend went to an abandoned building that they heard all the other kids talking about(how is haunted, kids stuff) They found a ladder that went up to the roof and went up it.They were afraid to go inside. They were sitting on the roof looking around the neighborhood. When they decided to get down, there was some electrical wires running across the roof line( they just ducked under when they first walked by them) for some reason(not knowing,I'm sure)my daughter touched the wire and was electrocuted. Her friend grabbed her shirt and pulled her away from the wire(THANK GOD) She is ok other than burns on her fingers and one on the back of her head. She was taken to the ER.I never thought about filing a suit until the company that owns the building said they should fine us for trespassing(which I agree with) However,if alot of other kids are going to the abandoned building all the time, someone is going to get killed by this bare wire. Tell me your thoughts please

July/Aug. '06 answered discovery questions for the Deposition that's scheduled for 12/27. Appointment w/ attorney in Oct. to go over answers, sign papers and discuss whatever questions we had. Dec. comes along haven't heard back from attorney with answers to our questions or follow up appt. to prepare for depostions. I call him the week of 15th. Get appt. scheduled. Meet and find that he didn't submit our discovery questions/answers to other side yet and we still need copies of reports. They cancelled depos. because of it. No biggie. The attorney told me he'd send a letter to us letting us know what we needed for the file, and also answer our questions. Deposition rescheduled for 4/9. I haven't heard anything since Dec. I called 2/27 left message saying I needed to hear from him. Still haven't. Do I cancel the appointment? We aren't prepared again. It's not like I can just go to his office. He's in another state 2 hrs. from me. Advice??
