It depends on where they practice, and who they work for. If they are in the top 10% of a prestegious law school and practice in New York, they probably do make $150,000 or more. The vast majority do not, and do not work in mega firms. Smaller firms pay around $70-75000. Government entry salaries can be as low as $40,000.

"ligiation" lawyers?
don't know.
starting salaries for recent law graduates varies, depending on the law firm that hires the graduate and the law school from which the candidate graduated.
Candidates that graduate in the top 10% of thier class from a top tier law school, will generally start at about $150K/year at a major law firm.
Smaller law firms will extend offers to graduates of third-tier schools starting out at anywhere form 50K to 75K per year.
Government agencies start attorneys at anywhere from 60K to 100K, depending on a number of factors (agency, position, location).

what do they make? they make a lot of hardship for other people.
Your question hints at what the problem is with lawyers: it's all about the money. You just want to become a lawyer for the money.
