Ok here is something I just don't understand: if prostitution is illegal in basically every place except Nevada I think ( I'm not really sure about this) then how can states allow escort services to operate? I mean I'm sure every single girl that's an escort doesn't sell herself but from what I've heard a lot of them do.

Was the Old Testament written before the New Testament? And for all you Christians out there, do you think the New Testaments views on Capital Punishment are much more up to date? (i.e. being much more against it.)
(This is for an essay, so all serious answers would be appreciated)

I had been out with my younger sister and her mates. My ex turned up. When it was time to leave he got v.angry cos I said that he couldn’t stay at mine. As we were about to leave, we saw him come back down the road with a metal pole. My first instinct was to get in the car and get away. I had only just pulled away from the curb when he arrived. I got out and tried to reason with him but he smashed the car window with the pole. He has been charged with ABH (he broke my finger) 2xassault (my sis and her mate) Criminal damage (car window) and being abusive to a police officer. I explained to the police what happened. I was breathalysed and was over the limit. Now I have to appear in court tomorrow and my legal aid application has been denied. I just haven’t got the money to pay a solicitor, so I'm going to have to represent myself. I’ve been reading that I may be able to get off if I can prove that it was a necessity to drive, but how do I plead? Any other advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I'm having trouble with a roomate in Philadelphia. I need legal advice on how to legally kick her out of my apartment from a lawyer, but I don't have money to throw around. I've heard that there are places you can go online to get free legal advice (I mean actually asking a lawyer how to go about things, not just reading laws) especially with tenant laws, but I'm reluctant to just go anywhere that pops up on google. If anyone has used a website to get free legal advice, and can vouch that the website is good and the legal advice you got was good, I would really like to know what site you went to. Thanks so much!

I'm not looking for legal advice on Yahoo answers right now, just references to lawyers, so please, people, don't pontificate on what you think my situation is and what you think I might do. I really need a real legal professional now.

Example 1: I once worked with a woman who, at least twice a day, went through a ten minute period of choking on herself. She would sit at her desk choking and spitting bile into tissues, and we all had to put up with it. Other people said that we "had to" help her, since we were on the second floor, and it was "so hard" for her to go up and down the stairs for files she needed. She never seemed to have trouble with the steps when it came to one of her smoking breaks, however. She spoke bitterly of people that were trying to tell her to quit smoking. I refused to do the file runs for her since she used the stairs just fine when she wanted to. Now, since she refused to try to help herself, why was I "uncompassionate" for refusing to help her?

I had an argument with my parents aprox 9 months ago and they kicked out my fiance, my daughter and I. Since then they have been telling people (i.e. their pharmacist, friends and relatives) that I had tried to sabotage's my mother's car in order to invoke harm upon them (a complete lie). They didn't even have the police look into the matter. Since then my friends and relatives have been asking me about this matter and I tell them that this is untrue but I still believe my parents may be telling people lies about me. I would like to know if I have any legal ground on which to sue them.

For most of its history, the US was run by White-Power regimes that ruthlessly oppressed non-whites -- including the peoples that inhabited the continent before their arrival. It will take many more generations to live down this horrific and disgraceful shame. However, the preservation of this abominable legacy is well-hidden and is very much alive in US drug policy. This is not one man’s opinion but stone-cold fact.

With you answer, I would like to see some links I don’t know already. Thanks.

who do I have to talk to to get the carcases of dead animals removed from the road ways in Alabama. I even wrote to the governor of Alabama about it. highway 31 between Spanish fort and Stapleton is the worst. there was a big dog killed before Christmas, his body was laying by the road side, his bones now lay beside the road side, and numerous other dogs and cats along with some smaller creatures. I have written to the Sanitation department, animal control, the Mayor of Spanish Fort, ( who ignored my letter) So who else is in charge of the road system in Lower Alabama?

Someone ran a red light and hit us. My wife was 8 1/2 month pregnant and had to be taken to Hospital for evauation. Car have been fixed and the hospital bill was right at 1000 dollars. Their insurance is offering 1500, but I don't know if 500 is enough for pain and suffering.

Any serious advice is appreciated.
