I saw some information on this site that was CLEARLY classified, and some of it was over 7 months old!!! Is the government even monitoring this site? And what happens to the people who post this information? Any WHY is it NEVER removed?

Yes I noticed that OPSEC is violated here all the time, soldiers talking about day to day duties in Iraq, the speed aircraft carriers drive at, all sorts of little things that are however classisfied. I assume someone has tabs on it because of how big a user base this place has.

EDIT: Some of these people are really stupid, one called you adolf for not respecting free speech!? Theres no right to speak about classified information, it is actually VERY illegal depending on how sensitive the information is. When people are told anything witha security clearance they vow to not talk about it to anyone not in the same security bracket and agree to be punished if they do so. These 14 year olds with no life experience need to stop answering questions they know nothing about.

The government does not monitor this site. It is up to the users to report misuse of the site. Nothing happens to the perpetrators - they just get the posting removed once it's reported and i think if there are enough complaints, they may eventually get banned.

Oops...I'm sorry...i though you meant classified as in classified ads...my bad! I truly am sorry...just had a blonde moment!

A bit harsh, you never said whether or not the "information" was marked "classified" how (clearly) was it, if it wasnt stamped.

Besides I have no problem with "open government"

Anarchists Cookbook shows you how to make a "nuke".
I can get copies of it at any bookstore.

Maybe it is not as classified as you think.

Give me an example of some information you saw on this site that was 'CLEARLY' classified. Bottom line, I don't believe you.

Classified.... I doubt it.

Cite an example, and please be specific and list the sources of classification for the information in question.

Most people who have access to classified info don't readily share it in a public forum. That is a quick ticket to prison

Classified information? I doubt it? If so they sould be prosecuted. Unless it was from Cheney's office to discredit someone then it might be okay.

Duh, because this site doesn't have power over oil or the middle east, so it's not a priority. Just like a lot of issues in our homeland aren't priorities because they don't produce oil.

You'd be surprised at what is and isn't classified.
