One things for sure I'd feel very uncomfortable knowing it at all. I would wish I didn't know something like that about a family member. Ultimately if it was a small crime I'd keep quiet and be very angry with my relative for putting me in that position. But, if it was a major crime I'd tell the police. It wouldn't be easy but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't.

If any of mine committed a crime they know to come to me and they no that whatever it would be I would do the right thing and if the police needed to be told then I would do so, I have brought them up to respect my judgement so they know I wouldn't shout at them only if it was bad they know that I would not be happy only what's done is done and you take the consequences, I have a 26 and 28 yr old.

I'd tell. You don't want to be accused of "aiding and abetting". A criminal charge of aiding and abetting or accessory can usually be brought against anyone who helps in the commission of a crime, though legal distinctions vary by state. A person charged with aiding and abetting or accessory is usually not present when the crime itself is committed, but he or she has knowledge of the crime before or after the fact.

my parents turned my brother into the police but now hes a better person. I would've done the same thing but his crimes were fairly minor but he was still hurting himself and other. He was doing drugs, breaking into houses, stealing cars, driving drunk, etc... So whatever he was doing or any family member for that matter, then yes. Unless it was just smoking pot, then no.

That's a very good question, especially if you're the mother or father. It would be difficult, but I would tell the police all I knew.

It would be hard but I'd turn them in if they refused to turn themselves in - I'd be afraid they would do it again.
To the person above that wouldn't turn someone in for a hit and run - if they did it once, they would do it again. They must be turned in!
Take the family emotion out of the picture. What is the right and moral thing to do? Should you let a family suffer, not knowing what happened? Or should a person take responsibility for their actions.

Depends on how they are related. Whatever you do, don't lie to the police because that will get you thrown in jail. Just refuse to answer any questions. Your under no obligation to speak unless ordered by the court and judge to do so.

I'd try to avoid the police, but at the same time tell them to take responsiility for their actions.
