What would be the Process to suing my landlord? What would you have to do? Would a lawyer take a case like this? I live in a apartment building, there is only one way to get in and out of the apartment building. There used to be two post to hold on to. but one of them has been broken since August of 2006. The landlord come here all the time and dont fix it. He just leave it. Right now it is winter and there is alot of snow and ice at times, but it hard sometimes to walk up and down on these steps, and than one of the post missing, you dont have any support. If someone was to slip and fall , hurt there back or even broke a bone. Due to the negligance of the landlord. Could you sue him for pain and suffering and stuff? What would be the proper steps in filing a lawsuit? What are somethings I would need to prove my case and win? I live in New York

Every time I receive a book in the mail, it's been opened by the mailman or the post office...am I in trouble?

This seems to happen only when things are sent media rate, though two books sent to me from overseas have also been opened.

Am I on the Homeland Security watch-list (I used to be involved in left-wing activist politics) or are they just really strict about media rate mail?

The US can open media rate mail without a search warrant, but do I have grounds for hiring a lawyer? It happened again today for about the 8th or 9th time...

My husband and I have recently been told that I may not be able to have a baby (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and if I can become pregnant I may not be able to have a healthy pregnancy for me or the baby (high blood pressure and mitral valve prolapse). I can't see being selfish enough to insist on having my own baby and either me or the baby or both of us not making it through the pregnancy! What good am I to my child if I die during the process of having them!
Anyway, the question I am posing is: I live in Louisiana and am wondering what are my options! Are there ways to find a mother who is pregnant (say a teenager) and doesn't wish to keep the baby-like an agency that refers them to parents (not an adoption agency, like a governmental agency maybe)? If so, how long does the birth mother have to change her mind after the baby is born? And what are the costs incurred during the pregnancy process, do I pay living expenses and doctors fees, or what?

In 1994, New Orleans had 421 murders with about 450,000 people in the city. Thats a murder rate of 85.5 per 100,000 people, a rate which has not been matched by any U.S. city to date. If N.O. was the size of Los Angeles, it would have had over 3,000 murders that year. Incredible.

So was it the murder capital of the world??? or just the U.S.?

Abortion is a medical procedure that should only be discussed between the woman and her doctor. I have no right to infringe in her privacy. I would not want anyone to violate my rights and tell me what to do with my body. I have no right taking away a female's rights, born or unborn.

But I am AGAINST abortion. I totally despise abortion and if I were a woman would never have one. BUT then again I am not a woman and would never know how it is to be one and will NOT JUDGE the circumstances of their abortion: whether they were raped, whether the pregancy will hurt her and the child's health or whatever, that is NOT my business. It is a medical procedure btwn her and her doc.

I am not pretentious enough to think that others cannot think for theirselves to be morally right. I have belief in other people and the choices they make.
I am pro choice, since Jesus said not to judge.

Ok, so you go to the doctor and ask for some help, they do "What they Think will help" But they was wrong Should you still pay for this, I feel that Its like going to a restraunt and ordering food and the reciveing an emty plate and still being asked to pay for the food . Any way would you pay for medical services if you where still sick a year later? I don't feel that I should pay for something I did not recieve like quality medical care veiws are welcome I am inserch of everyone opinion because we all have one .

There are several rumors I have heard from several reliable sources, like the word on the street, as it were?
#1 Single white male heterosexuals are a minority? And we know women out number men that is a given. # that homosexualty whether is bi-sexual or not is on the rise. # 3 That in the year 2015 many of the young girls will have to be artificially inseminated if they want babies? And there will be a quota to avoid population, so as not to abuse the pro-choice laws of abortion for birth control.
# 4 That only affordable households wil be able to have these children with a stiff screening process? # 5 that the new health insurance laws include a contract that excludes pregnacies until the age of 25 with a viable income and marriage is an optional? choice? # 6 that supplementary income will be necessary by somewhere besides welfare program for anyone having children after applying for welfare? # 7 that only the legal aliens will receive the medical cards for medical care?

It seems that church brings communities together and creates connections between different financial and ethnic groups. Even if people do not "believe", wouldn't it be better for their children if they did attend and develop a bond with their communities?

I personally believe that a woman deserves the right to choose, because it isn't right for a man in Washington to tell a woman somwhere else that she can't get an abortion because he doesn't like it, that isn't America, it isn't murder, and if we didn't regulate it it would be nothing but a dangerous back alley abortion for these women. So, as you christian right folks read this question, just think, if you were raped, would you keep the child? or would you raise that child forever? You probably can't answer it becasue you've never been in that situation you nobody can judge until they have. PRO-CHOICE (P.S. how can you be pro-life and support the stupid war in Iraq? or do muslim babies not matter as much as christian babies?)

I would like to know why Liberals would like to take away guns from us?
When are they going to realize that it is not the gun that causes murders, killings, and other things? THE GUN DOES NOT PULL ITS OWN TRIGGER.

This would be like banning our use of cars. It is not the cars fault people get run over it is the individual operating the car.
If you take a look at England, since the gun bans have been set, crime and robbery has skyrocketed! This makes the theives, criminals and robbers more determined to get the guns!
