yea but that's why its called advertising...cuz it tells you that you should go buy the stuff...through subliminal messages...otherwise there is no effect...

I think all advertising is in some way subliminal. They all prey on our fears and insecurities. None of them come right out and say "You don't need this" but you don't because things that people actually NEED don't really need advertisements...we know what they are already. Branding is a bit of a farce too, look at snack chips. Most look and taste the SAME, all you're buying is a flashy package. Also, I think it's hard to prove subliminal advertising because if it's done properly, how would you know it was there?

Subliminal messages are insertions of small clips that only your unconscious picks up... it is too fast for the conscious seeing mind to assimilate the information.

Other subliminal messages may include nuances or pursuasion of thought through suggestion, thus reinforcing a world belief that is often false but aids the persona of the advertising company...

My favorite one is the energy companies advertising trees as our best renewable energy source.....

It is close to propoganda....

Yes subliminal advertising is illegal. Is that your youtube post? if not the person who posted it could have done some editing to get that effect themselves
