No, it makes no sense. Saying "I'm pro-choice when it comes to abortion" is exactly like saying "I'm pro-choice when it comes to slavery" or "I'm pro-choice when it comes to rape." If a person claims to be personally against slavery and rape, but argues that others should have the "choice" to own slaves and rape people, would you believe them when they say they are not pro-slavery and pro-rape?
Why, exactly, do you despise abortion? Could it be because abortions is NOT just a "medical procedure," but the unjust execution of an innocent human being? Remember, the mother's body is not the only body involved.
In the case of rape, the innocent child should not be executed for the crime of his or her father. Would you shoot a one-year-old child because her father is a rapist? If not, why is the child in the womb fair game?
There is nothing more harmful to a child's "health" than killling that child, and many doctors have testified that abortion is NEVER necessary to save a mother's life. See, for example:

You need to read the whole passage in which Jesus said "judge not." In Matthew 7, He instructs us not to judge hypocritically:
"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, FIRST cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and THEN shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye" (emphasis added).

Yes, when I met with Newt's chief of staff in the 90's considering a possible run for office. that was my answer as well, of course the media in the case of a politician will be branded pro-choice.
But the Abortion movement as a whole wants partial birth, which is murder, plain and simple. Roe V. Wade, only legalized abortion through the first trimester, and it has been watered down and perverted. at what point can a woman take responsibility for her actions.
I am pro-choice first trimester, and after that the decision has been made, she is having the baby...lol.
One other point, what about parental rights? A 16 year old can't get her ears pierced without consent, but a 12 year old needing an abortion no problem.

Definitely make sense. It shows that you respect another individual's rights and ability to think and decide for herself.
It is commendable that your own antipathy for abortion did not infringe on the rights of another individual.
Abortion is undoubtedly a sad thing. But i feel that if one cannot have such basic rights to make decisions about her own body it's an even sadder thing.
So for the politicians who argued for the rights of the unborn baby, i suggest they take up responsibility and take out fetus and grow them on a petri dish or find them a surrogate mother.
Kudos to you for your courage to give another human of your equal a chance to decide for themselves. Why dont you consider joining the elections? The world need more politicians like you who would spare a thought for the others. :)

Some things should never be legislated. Morality is a matter of personal opinion. People will live their lives and do what they do no matter what the government thinks. This particular country was founded by a lot of people who believed people should have a choice in their own beliefs. Good for you not judging others.

I have the same point of view as you. It is a difficult problem. To kill an unborn fetus is murder but then again a woman must have the choice over her own body. I suppose that it must up to the pregnant woman to make the choice.

That makes perfect sense. Most pro-choice people don't love the idea of abortion. They love the idea of freedom for every woman to decide for herself what is best for her. Like you, I would not want to have one. Since I cannot safely carry a child to term, I have been very careful to avoid being in a situation where I would have to make that decision. But I don't feel comfortable imposing my view on others.

I completely agree!
I'm the same way. It is wrong in my beliefs but it's not the federal government's job to tell a woman what medical procedure she can or can not have. I can see the state government putting that to vote and getting a majority of the population's say, however.

You are Pro-Choice... simple as that, even though some people won't want you to think so.
Most people are pro choice are anti abortion in the sense that they don't want it to ever have to happen, but they recognize that it is a necessary evil in some situations and not their business, but the business of the woman.
Your point of view is very well developed... good for you!! :)

You make complete sense to me. I am also pro-choice but anti-abortion... I believe in a woman's right to choose but could never make that choice for myself.

Well put, and you've illustrated completely what being pro-choice is about--allowing women to make their own decisions.
I know several women who are pro-choice but who would never have an abortion.
