Friend works for a company which employs aboutt 120 employees. Company in business about one year. Employees work long hours during week. Each Friday (payday) employees are allowed to purchase liquor and bring it back to the office, where after 6 pm, they are allowed to drink.(they work until 8 pm on Fridays). She says no one really gets drunk as they are still working. I say that you really can't tell with some people, whether they are drunk or not. I also say that if they are drunk or even have liquor on their breath, and there is an accident, that her company could well be held liable if the person leaves work and has an accident and someone is hurt. I asked her if she knew whether her company had an attorney. She doesn't know.I told her that it seemed to me they needed one if only to advise the owneres that they are taking a big chance allowing their employees to drink on the job.. Comments please?

I am currently trying to get my license back and went to court for driving a four-wheeler without a license. I have currently paid all the fines associated with past instances and feel that the judge is trying to throw anything he can at me so that I cannot get my license. I had to fly in from Colorado to appear for the four-wheeler incident and then was charged with a failure to appear in court from 1999, even though I had been in court several times in the past several years. The judge wouldn't let me leave TN until I paid a $500 fine.

Wouldn't the choice indicate a glaring lack of ethics, morals and courage? How can the same women who claim feminism is morally correct still tolerate Hillary when she continuously plays the victim role with Bill and his affairs? Isn't this counterintuitive to the liberal independent woman who has no need for a man simply becuase he can't be trusted?

i went and had my pre sentencing report done, in it, the probation officer recommended that i just get a fine and have to pay restitution. my lawyer said she was going to suggest i go on probabtion instead of the fine due to the fact that i am 7 months pregnant and have had so many complications that i no longer have a job. (am pretty much on bed rest). do you think that i will probably get either the fine or probation??? is it likely i will go to jail?! what are the odds of him going against the recommendation?

have always been polite to the judge, using yes sir, no sir, yes your honor, ect. dress nice, and have no prior record.

On Thursday, Jan. 25th I got a call from the school nurse tell me Nadia had recieved a "small bump" , Nadia was told Douglas the whole story when they got home.

3 boys , One holding her down "in the handcuff game" and one kneeing her and one threatening to rip her heart out, while yet 2 more boys egged them on and didn;t go for help.

And where was the teacher you ask?? on the bench talking to another teacher, while my child was being held down on her stomache, face in the dirt.

This happened at what is SUPPOSED to be one of the best schools around here. I am ASHAMED to have my child go to Riverchase Elementary.

NOTHING happened to the boys that did this. THEY GOT PUT IN THE THINK TANK, AND TOLD THIS WAS INAPPROPRIATE PLAY BEHAVIOUR.
i took her to the er, and they made pictures, and called the police. dhr was called. it was written up as assault 3.
teacher blew me off and said it was a game they'd been playing. This is a school system known for is show Two- A-Days show.

My friend was rape.d and her b/f and I have talked with her about turning the two guys in. She says that she won't do anything b/c she gave up fighting back when she knew it was hopeless and in the eyes of the law, that makes it legal.
Is she right??
The second reason why not is b/c the two guys were old friends of hers. She tried to fight back but ended up with a broken wrist and broken ribs.

Every day sees 1 or more burglaries in your neighborhood. Your own home has been burgled and/or trashed five times in last 15 years. You are a single homeowner, often away at work.

You set a trap guaranteed to cause serious, painful injury to burglar. Entirely on your own property, No Trespassing Signs posted. Trap is not monitored, does not work off electric power, entirely passive, requires break-in/burglar. Will definitely injure, perhaps seriously, could cause death.

Reasoning: You cannot take any more, State doing nothing.

A. Is this a crime?
B. If burglar succumbs to trap, are you liable in any way?

I just received a certified letter from a heating contractor who installed a new water heater in my late father-in-laws home shortly before he died. My father-in-law passed away in 10/04. He had no estate or will. My husband settled the estate sometime in 2006. The only asset was a mobile which we sold and applied to funeral costs and lot rent and utilities. We had been in contact with heating contractor from the beginning and told him that we would try to pay the bill after the trailer was sold. There was no money left and the estate was closed without payment to him. The total bill was $2000.00 and $1000.00 was paid by credit card company. My father in law had charged the intial deposit before his death.

Here is what happened.... My husband had been having bad headaches for about 2 months. Then he started getting dizzy spells, hot flashes, neck pain and wierd pains. He has a degenerative disk disease in his back and is prescribed Methadone for pain and has been on it for about 2 yrs.
On Nov. 4, he was almost passing out, his head and neck were killing him. I thought he was dying, so I insisted that we go to the ER even though we don't have health insurance.
We got there and he started having like amneisia, and didn't know what was going on. His blood pressure was 169 over 112. The ER doctor came in and was really nice at first. Then as soon as we told him what medications my husband takes (methadone), his attitude changed. They did a CT scan of his brain and didn't find anything. The Dr. told him to go home and drink some Gatorade.
We think my husband was having a stroke, and they did NOTHING, and I think it's because he is on methadone. To futher prove my thought, I received....

My dad got into a fight with a co-worker in the workplace. The co-worker was constantly patting him and touching him; my dad got mad and punched him. The co-worker fought back and punched my dad in the eye. My dad has a black eye now and took one week off. The company fired the co-worker already and is considering firing my dad because he was fighting on the job.

Can the company fire my dad? Is there a way that my dad can get the company to compensate for the injury?
