My dad got into a fight with a co-worker in the workplace. The co-worker was constantly patting him and touching him; my dad got mad and punched him. The co-worker fought back and punched my dad in the eye. My dad has a black eye now and took one week off. The company fired the co-worker already and is considering firing my dad because he was fighting on the job.

Can the company fire my dad? Is there a way that my dad can get the company to compensate for the injury?

Agreed - he can be fired. His best bet - offer up a sincere apology to his boss and make them believe it will never happen again. Your Dad should point out he was under stress and he felt he was being sexually harassed. Having said that - the proper way to handle sexual harassment in the workplace is to report it to the Company, as they have a legal obligation to put a stop to it. But by taking matters into his own hands, he ruined his standing regarding this issue. It's understandable that any guy would take offense and want to deck somebody doing that sort of thing, but you do have to keep your head and your Dad didn't.

I hope he manages to keep his job.

Yes, he can be fired, and no, he does not have to be compensated for the injury. Worker's Comp only covers injuries resulting from normal work duties.
