my mother and her brother were the only children. they applied for letter of administration to sort the estate out. everything has been sorted except the property. they could not come to a desicion on what to do with the house. 10 yrs on they no longer communicate with each other. the house is in a very bad state and now the council have got involved issueing an improvement notice, my mother has made many attempts to contact her brother to get the house sorted and sold but he is ignoring all communication from her and the council. she has also been billed for the council tax on the property which she is paying herself. although they have a letter of administration in both names can she sell the house herself, recoupe all money she has paid into it and give him his equal share of what is left. ( She is the eldest child). where does she stand?

Hi I was wondering, I have been watching some judge shows during the day and I have noticed judges often say, "I don't believe you" Once I went to a legal mediator. These two bullies from my work didn't like me much and actually hated me to the extent they went to court to have my unemployment revoked. Even though I had evidence I was fired wrongly, the mediator said those words, "I don't believe you." I am perplexed that anyone has the right to say that, esp if they do not know. Do they have a lie detector test telling them who is telling the truth? What if they are wrong? It makes me sad to think the legal system is based on presumptions? I feel like they should say something like, "Based on the evidence, I can only conclude blah blah..." To say they don't believe something sounds wrong to me, esp in my case the mediator couldn't have been more wrong. It really made me lose faith in the legal system. And to see it on judge shows makes me almost cringe. What do you think? Thank you.

My parents wished their home re-built (in Maryland) and went thru a contractor. Per the contract, the house was going to be completed in four months. It took them 14 months to finish about 80% of the work promised. Two days ago they informed us that they were filing for bankruptcy. Our worst nightmare came through.

What is our next step?
What are our rights?
Can the loss be deducted?
Is it worth to hire a lawyer?

The IRS recently signed a contract with “Pioneer Credit Recovery” this means that Pioneer Credit Recovery will have Access to EVERY ONE’S Tax Records in America.

Working for Pioneer is a man who works in the IT (Internet / PC) department who has stolen people’s SSN’s and personal information, he has also taken Computers from work to get information off them then returned the computers as if nothing happened.

This man is NOT An American Citizen, he is here on a 10 year Visa.

This has been reported to “Pioneer Credit Recovery, and Sallie Mae” several times and they have still done nothing about it, not even an investigation.

While they take their time on finding the evidence they need and stopping this man from continually stealing personal information from ALL of America, he sits nicely at his desk and you could be his next Victim !!!

I have reported him to INS, ICE, Pioneer Credit Recovery, Sallie Mae, IRS, every news station in NY, and no one wants to hear it, still nothing is being done.

Who’s voice do they want to hear?
Who is the next victim of this man?
When will Justice be served?
How many people have to hurt due to this one person?
Is America really safe, when America allows men as this one to continue to do what he is doing?

When a person is a suspect and has a warrant for their arrest and are picked up by the police how can they put them in jail? The person hasn't yet been convicted so they are innocent. So how can the state imprison them and make them pay to re-obtain their freedom before proving they did anything illegal?

My daughter got a ticket for "aggravated" unlicensed operation because she had an unpaid fine. 2 days later she got pulled over again (i know, i know, what the heck was she doing driving?!). She goes to court (New York State) 2 days apart. Where can she get help? Will she lose her license?

My child had braces for a year. The orthodotist removed the braces saying his teeth were now straight. He retired. When I took him to another dentist. That dentist showed me how my son can't close his jaw because his teeth are not alighned. Now I have to get braces again.

Abortion is a medical procedure that should ONLY be discussed between the woman and her doctor. I have no right to infringe in her privacy. I wouldnt want anyone to violate MY rights and tell me what to do with my body. I have no right taking away a person's rights, born or unborn.

But I am AGAINST abortion. I totally DESPISE abortion and if I were a woman Id never have one. BUT I am not a woman and would never know how it is to be one and wont JUDGE the circumstances of their abortion: whether they were raped, whether the pregnancy will hurt her and the child's health, psychiatric problems or whatever. It is NOT my business. It is a medical procedure btwn her and her doctor, a medical professional.

Im not pretentious to think that others cant think for theirselves to be morally right. I have belief in other people and the choices they make. Taking away freedom to choose would kill the idealogy of what America stands for.
I am pro choice, since Jesus said not to judge.

My boyfriend and I have been going out for 14 months. We are both ready for sex but we refuse to break the law which says it is illegal under 16.We are only 14 so this is really annoying and most of the girls i know did it at 12 or 13.

Out of general interest, who thinks the age should be lowered or raised, and to what age?

I am generally against capital punishment as a sentence for crime. I believe rehabilitation should always be explored.

BUT

I am concerned by the level of reoffending and general decline in the standards of society. There are too many do gooders about championing the cause of BAD PEOPLE.

With the curent state of affairs why dont we review the individuals in prison and cast further judgement? Some people are irretrievable. I suggest a cull.

eg
37 y.o. male in and out of prison since aged 18. Contributes feck all to society during his 20 months broken liberty over the years. No sign of reforming.

Dust down the noose.

We must also think of some of the decent families these criminals belong to. However, I believe a family can cope better with bereavement grief than the repetitive stress associated with their loved ones maladaptive behaviour. I know societry as a whole would.

Your opinions please remebering the decent majority rather than the deviant minority

I have been wittness summons by the county court after I tried to withdraw my statement because of witness intimidation to myself and my family and I felt unsafe. I am intending to attend court but just wanted some advice on what to expect when I get there and whether they will ask me why I have been summons etc. I would be very grateful for some advice, thanks.
