What if they had to live like us the people do you think they would learn what we really need?

Yes, they should have to live or have lived the "normal" person's life. I too think they should have to of served in the military. I know this rules out my lady Hillary that i love so much, but you should not be sending troops to war if you never served yourself. Commander and Chief, we give them the top military position without military experience... makes no sense at all !!

Even if they lived a normal life for a while,they would forget it eventually and put it behind them.Most politicians become corrupt after a while anyways.

they're not necessarily stupid, they're dishonest because the only thing they're after is power and they're and surrounded by all sorts of companies and lobyists each with their own agenda... you don't have to be a genius to know what the people really needs, the hard part is to do the right thing

I don't believe that politicians are lacking in intelligence. It is rather that they need to come to compromise in order to bring about greater prosperity and cooperation. So, no, if they lived like us, they would be as divided, defensive, and egotistical as they are now, and as we are now.
