Can you give me 5 reasons why the Church intervenes with the State?

Churches are part of the community, they have a vested interested in what happens in the community.

People often confuse what is written in the Constitution regarding church and state. They think the 2 HAVE to be separate. In fact the constitution only states that - Congress shall make no law with regard to religion.

That does not mean that religion has to 'stay out' of the laws of the land.

Since a church is made up of members of a community - those members can express opinions and participate in what is happening in their state as much or as little as they see fit.

Probably not 5 but I can at least give one.

First of all, we really can't say "the Church". This isn't like England. There is no "the Church". We have many churches and none of them are state churches.

One area that religious organizations can play a major role in the government is through social programs such as food centers, shelters, and other government run organizations that are already operated by churches, anyway. We have a redundancy that could be eliminated by allowing the churches to do these kinds of things on their own with some government support if needed.

Outside of that, there is no role in government for a religious organization to play.

Reason 1 is all you need, because they are entitled to. Just as you are. Be careful of your phraseology also. The church does not intervene in state affairs, it is unable to intervene, it is able to have a say however. Just as you are.
