I lost my daughter do the wrong doing of an emergency doctor. He did not do tests that would have saved her life. Instead she died 3 days after he saw her. This is wrong and because she had no husband or children, as her mother, I can not sue for wrongful death. How can this law be changed?

I am afraid to describe the case in these details, as Yahoo's A team has implemented some type of filter-bot that is more restrictive than their own search engine. Seems like mentioning *rhymes with gong* hits for *rhymes with cheeses* in an Answers post is bad, but it's ok in a search using their "safe search" filter.

I repeat - this link will ONLY return content that Yahoo has deemed OK for children.

I put in for an appointed position with the uaw local I work at for gm. THey use a point system to determine who will get the job. I came in second place and would've been given the alt. position. I didn't get it. They bypassed me and gave it to the third place person. Then I put in for another appointed position. This position was actually a job i did out on the floor as a team rep and had been for 2 1/2 years. Found out it was given to someone else with one month in the facility and no experience whatsoever in the field we put in for. Am I wrong to believe I was discriminated against. I am Korean where the two people given the jobs were white. Neither had backgrounds in the jobs posted.

what are your thoughts about mandatory death sentence for people who are caught distributing drugs in singnapore? Recently there was a execution of 21 year old name Iwuchukwu Amara Tochi from Nigeria....Look up his name on google and read about his story because its truely sad. I think that this is just ignorance and govt not wanting to face the real issues of society. Just because you kill someone for doing something doesnt mean that its going to stop. I believe they need to address this issue in a differnt matter because this is very inhumane and all i see is retalilation and no justice so i wanna know what people think about this.

In other words, is choice more important than life?

In the penal system, one’s choices are taken away before one’s life. It seems to me that life itself is more important than one’s ability to make choices.

Why do pro-choicer's reverse this hierarchy?

I believe there are some things that are illegal in the US that are truly victimless. I also believe that any truly victimless crime shouldn't be a crime at all.

What are your thoughts?

I read this story this morning in the Chicago Tribune. It's about a dead Israeli soldier whose family won the right to inseminate a woman the man never knew with his frozen sperm, simply because the man "loved children". The man's mother said her son came to her in a vision twice about fathering children. The link is below:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0701290159jan29,1,7098536.story?coll=chi-news-hed&ctrack=1&cset=true
I guess my specific questions are:
• How does the mother have the right to choose who her dead son's sperm is impregnated in, and why does she have that right at all?
• Even though the Israeli courts say this is "a single case", will this not be used as precedent in other similar cases?
• Do deceased people have the same rights as the living simply through their family ties?
• Isn't this activity akin to playing God?
Would like all opinions- serious answers, please.

I developed carpel tunnel from using the 10-key. I filed workers compensation and began treatments in October of that year. In November the company fired me saying that my employer claimed that my performance had declined after I filed for my injury. My employment record now says that I left "Involuntarily" which has affected my chances to secure employment elsewhere. What can I do to have my employment record cleared or at least changed to voluntary leave from the company. Hire an employment lawyer?

In cerntain Countries a husband can get away with murdering his wife for disrespect. These women are supressed and the men of these countries find our treatment of women a discrace and become inraged(some times to there death) for our desires for equality and change. Women Can not have an education, show there faces or have eye contact with strangers.. How do the changes begin or should there be a change or concern?

Or should I continue to think local/small, like keep pushing for Gay marriage rights(Dont take this wrong I am for this). But our concerns of rights in country seem so trivial when compared to other countries....

I often hear people say "There should be a law against that" when they see something they don't approve of happening across the street (I.E. Pot smoking, abortion, guns...). My question is; Is it right to keep making laws against our neighbors that strangle our freedoms because most people don't like what they are doing? If yes, what freedoms/human rights should remain untouched by the law?

looking for opinion, serious answers only. thanks.

We paid an atty $500 to get a DNA. My brother was murdered and the state has his dna. you can look at my question I posted before this one to read more about this. anyway, We had an appt with the atty this morning and I wanted to see proof of what he had filed. He pulled a case up, and gave me a copy. The names for the dna were wrong, My brothers name is Robby Brown, He had Robert Brown, and the case # on the paper was a divorce!!! We went immeadiatly to another lawyer and showed him, He gave us the the complaint to the bar papers, and said to get your money back.I am so upset, we have been waiting to see if this little girl is my dead brothers daughter, the only thing we have left of him. She is in a foster home, and when we hired this lawyer he knew the foster family was wanting to adopt her...Can I file a police report? I cant believe this guy did this to us knowing our circumstances...I am so hurt and dont know what to do, I just hope our time is not up

It is against the law in most (or every) state for a counselor to engage in an intimate relationship with his/her client. Why? Is it because there is an inbalance of power, and the client is dependent upon the one with more power? Which makes you wonder, is the consent 'true consent' as in an affair between 2 neighbors? Should separation of church and state apply to a counselor who is also a pastor/priest? Next time you hear about a pastor who was fired for having an "affair" with a woman congregant he vowed to God to protect, should we wonder if it was really an exploitation of her trust in his powerful position?
