I put in for an appointed position with the uaw local I work at for gm. THey use a point system to determine who will get the job. I came in second place and would've been given the alt. position. I didn't get it. They bypassed me and gave it to the third place person. Then I put in for another appointed position. This position was actually a job i did out on the floor as a team rep and had been for 2 1/2 years. Found out it was given to someone else with one month in the facility and no experience whatsoever in the field we put in for. Am I wrong to believe I was discriminated against. I am Korean where the two people given the jobs were white. Neither had backgrounds in the jobs posted.

Have you asked why you didn't get the positions? Once you find out and it isn't "right", then uou should contact an attorney and explain this to him/her. Also, are there arbitration rules you need to follow due to you being part of a union?

That is for THE COURTS to decided based on the merits of each case - not on sentiment.
