ok, things continued to esculate until the abuse was so bad, i realised they wanted me to quit, so i decieded to tough it out. sure enough one of them was being so bossy and hateful, she scolded me terribley for cleaning the cutting board and knives too much. it was during summer, and we work with chicken, and hamburger meat on the same cutting board, so i would sneak it and clean it as often as i could. during her scolding she shook both of them at me,,,,,,,,and continued to be mean to me. it excalated, and i ended up coming home in tears. however, i called our police department, and they offered to file a report. so i called the country club, and told them i wouldnt file for the abuse, and the feelings of being threatened constantly as long as she was fired. they agreed to this. she was causing other people problems too. before chirstmas i got sick. nothing i could help. upon my return i was told she is back. what should i do?

I have a friend who is very ill and will probably die within a year or so. He has no family. His biggest possession is a 96 escort. I know Social Security will pay 250.00 for a burial but what will happen when he dies? I am helping to support him while he is alive. I cannot afford to pay for his funeral. I am sure this happens all the time but it is new to me. ( he cannot afford any burial or life insurance)

I don't abuse animals and love my dog a bunch, but wouldn't you think you should get a harsher sentence for hitting and injuring a person? Why is it a bad thing to humanely dispose of pest creatures by shooting them?

I am just merily curious.

I'm just thinking about that incident when former Alberta Premier Ralph Klein was assaulted by a young man who claimed he had a right to do so as it was his form of protesting. For some reason, the offender had lots of community support, but I don't think from the majority.

In the state of Arkansas what can be done when a 23 year old man, during a lake trip with many other friends, repeatedly attempts to cooerce a 13 year old girl away from her parents for such things as "a midnight swim when everyone else goes to sleep" or "man I wish you were old enough to dring, then we could really have some fun" "Do you think you could get away from your dad and go for a ride with me in my new truck and listen to the radio".

I have been living with my aunt for nine months. I am not in school right now, and I'll be 22 in march. I am trying to go to school. I am fighting for independancy status. My uncle wants to claim me on his taxes, but isn't paying for my schooling. This makes it almost impossible for financial aid, considering he makes over $200,000 a year. I came here because I was homeless, and I want to go to school, and besides the shelter I was at, had nowhere else to turn. Please! I need to make sure it's not legal. I live in SC.

Marty Lawless had been driving a cab in Chicago for a large company. “If I could only lay my hands on twenty thousand bucks” he marked, “I could really make out. I could get a cab and license of my.”
Jim Craven, who had attended law school said to him, “I’ll loan you the money. Use it for two years and then you can pay it back when you want, up to ten years.
But Marty was hesitant
Jim spoke up “Now hold on. We will make it carry one percent interest and you can sign a promissory note if you want. How’s that? ”
Marty replied, “Thanks a lot, Jim. It will sure give me a boost.”
Jim then raised a glass and said to everyone present, “All right, Let’s drink to the world’s newest independent cab driver!”
Marty resigned from his job. He also recommended Craven to a cab driver friend, Bill Short. Short had recently been rear ended by a beer truck and had suffered whiplash and other injuries. His cab, which he owned, was totaled.
But a few days later he received a letter from Craven in which Craven wrote he had had a “big deal” come up and did not have the money to loan now.
A few days thereafter Bill Short called to thank Lawless for referring him to Craven. Short advised Lawless that Craven had almost immediately negotiated a $500,000 settlement for him, as the beer distributor had wanted to avoid publicity from a.
Short also advised that Craven received a 40% contingent fee for his efforts.
Lawless has hastened to your office after learning that he cannot get his old job back and now awaits your advice.

(A)Discuss potential causes of action Lawless may have against Craven and their likelihood of success.
(B)If Lawless should prevail how would his likely monetary recovery be measured and why?

Based on Mr. Bush' statement regarding opening mail without proper Constitutional protections afforded in the form of a search warrant. What would constitute an exigent circumstance? I understand that there are certain situations regarding intelligence gathering where time is of the essence, but we are talking about mail here. It is physical and can easily be quarantined until a search warrant can be obtained. I am a conservative and I do support legitimate intellignece gathering for the purposes of security, but frankly this whole thing reads like an Orwell novel to me with a huge potential for abuse of power.

For those who have not read Mr. Bush' statement on the matter read paragraph 6 of this link.

My apartment complex is claiming they sent out a letter 2 months ago stating that if any tenants were disruptive we would receieve a $100 fine.

A month ago I had a get together at my apartment in the end someone got sick and threw up on a car in the parking lot. The next day we received a threatening note from the owner saying that next time we had a party we would have a visitor.

Now we have a fine and my complex is claiming they will refuse to accept our rent until the fine is paid. The fine composes of $30 for the owner of the car having to get it detailed and $100 for a "disturbance fine" that would go to the apartment.

I would like to dispute the $100 portion of the fine based on the fact that none of our neighbours ever told us we were being loud and the fact that the owner of the car never came to see us.

Is what the apartment complex is doing even legal since the "fine" was a recent addition to my contract?

Why do people sit idly by as George Bush and his cronies continue to take away our rights guaranteed us by the Constitution??? This time saying he has the right to open our mail without a warrant. First, taking and arresting people without charging them for years, not being able to see a lawyer. Then the wiretapping scandal where he said he has the right to listen in on private conversations withou benefit of a warrant. Now, taking the mail and being able to look at it without benefit of a cause except what is deemed an emergency. How much more can we as a people take??
