That is a good question. I have never thought of it like that. Both spread STD's are damaging to the public health. It's too late now to outlaw homosexuality, but it would have been wise too in the begininng.

The main distinction between prostitution and homosexual activity is the exchange of money for the personal service. What you have identified is one of societies grossest examples of hypocracy. Homosexuality, like heterosexual promiscuity, is considered okay because it is the free will giving of personal pleasure whereas prostitution involves the selling of personal services which is considered unacceptable. The reasoning goes way back. Similarly, plural marriage, polygamy, is considered wrong even though it is a solemn commitment between two or more adults to share their lives together. The sexual bond between two adults is considered to be the most intimate and sacred commitment we can give each other. We are literally giving ourselves physically to the other person and we don't do that lightly. However, over the decades and centuries, we have treated the sexual union more lightly until it has become nothing more than a recreational pass time and just as common as kissing used to be (that also was considered very private in days gone by). The permanent truth is that all promiscuity, whether free or paid for, homo or hetero, is wrong and should be shunned. Only when private choices influence public choices will this hypocracy be corrected.

You've still got a ways to go just before you can learn the English language. I understood the first question, despite the severe misspelling of "restricted," but the second question is almost completely incomprehensible.

Why is prostitution banned and homosexual behavior allowed? Because government has the capacity to DISCRIMINATE, that's why. Government decided that prostitution is worse. Perhaps some people in government came to believe that homosexual feelings are not a choice, so a person should not be punished for "doing what comes naturally."

{edit: Dave t, if you think that us gay people have a very powerful lobby, you haven't been paying attention very well.}

Yeah, I think T-bone is right. Homosexuality is very dangerous and so is prostitution. The law needs to be there to help protect us when we are our weakest. I think both should be illegal, but I don't think Homosexuality will ever be outlawed. They have a strong political machine and a lot of pro homo propaganda. Gays definitely practice a lifestyle that is harmful to their body's health. Unfortunately, the public is not being told this. Militant gays will make sure of that.

i don't understand this question at all and am responding only becoz i am baffled as to why you're comparing prostitution to homosexuality which do not seem to be related to each other in any aspect... plus i reckon some of the answers are very offensive to homosexual people and i do not see how they are any worse than hetrosexuals as u can and will find them spreading stds at a similar rate
