Get in touch with the police immediately. Nobody (apart from your bank in certain circumstances) has the right to take your card, let alone your wallet with all it contains. Slander is a messy and expensive business and you'd have to have witnesses. If there was nobody else around when this happened, then it wasn't slander anyway. This is theft. Don't let him get away with it!

I don't think you have much of a case for slander, but possibly for harrasment.

A much more effective course of action would be to make a formal complaint to the shops head office who would possibly take disciplinary action against the manager in question.

Courts and suing etc should be a last resort as they are lengthy and costly processes.

If a shop doesn't have chip and pin installed then there's not much you can do about that...

YOU should have called the police right away and pressed charges, do it now, there are a few charges you can bring against this fool, do you have any witnesses, if so get a statement from them, if they had a machine capable of allowing your card to be used, you have every right to use it, the chip pin number is for your security, what is the point of having this form of security if you are not allowed to use it, your rights have been breached, contact a solicitor......good luck.

dude, slander is punishable by law.
the point is, know yourself and you'll understand the whys of our actions. if you need to apologize, it's highly recommended but you have to do it the most humble way you possible can.

before it gets to court, settle that simple matter as early as you can.

everything is forgivable. the question is, are you willing to ask for forgiveness? be strong on that. it's a virtue only learned through ture humility.

That's not slander, that's theft. Phone your local police station and file a complaint.

You need to provide more detail, but it sounds more like you have a criminal robbery case on your hands. Good luck.
