Recently I moved from a average size city to a much larger metropolitan area. It didn't take me long to witness an act by a officer traveling in police cruiser that just stunned me.

We both approaced an intersection (I was behind him) and the light was red. The officer came to a rolling stop, turned on his flashers and proceeded through the red light then turned his flashers back off. The light turned green within just a few seconds so I was able to stay behind him. He did this again at the next intersection. I was able to witness him doing this through three more intersections. I was livid. I took down the number of the cruiser and was going to call in a complaint when I got home. My husband is from this city and I told him what I saw. He said that is common practice and not to report it or we would be harrassed. That was about 2 months ago and I've seen this occur probably a dozen times since that day.

Fast forward to yesterday. I was approaching a four way stop

I am sick of this. Recently a peodophile, described by the police as "extremely dangerous to children" was moved into a flat near where I live. He lives no more than 300 yards from the local primary school. During the morning and afternoon, when children go to and from, he has a policeman posted outside his house.
I have found out that he has served a total of 6 years out of 28 years of sentences.
Not only do I pay for his housing and food etc but I also pay for the authorities to keep an eye on him.

What?? Surely we have to come up with a better policy on these kind of monsters.
I dont think they can be reformed. I think they will always be a threat. Our countries soft approach doesnt work. Sexual attacks breed sexual attackers. The government doesnt want them going "underground" but I dont exactly see them with posters and banners and going on free perverts marches.
I am a decent bloke and I want to live in a decent society.

Part of the justification of the presence of American troops in Iraq was to promote democracy against a tyrant. Yet they handed over the prisoner before the trials were finished, and even Saddam's massacres in Kurdistan haven't been examined.

Should the U.S. government be sued by Human Rights NGOs, along with former Iraqi officials, is this compatible with the Constitution ?

Police have refused to release photographs of two escaped murderers, claiming it might breach their human rights.
Killers Jason Croft and Michael Nixon are among 13 inmates to have absconded from Sudbury open jail in Derbyshire in the past two months.
Despite the fact that only two have been caught - and that the killers are still on the loose - Derbyshire Police said the public do not have a right to know what the convicts look like.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: "When making
a decision to release any photograph, police forces must take into account numerous factors including the public interest test.

What do you think about this?

What about the rights of the public and the victim's families?

Does it seem that the rights of the criminals are more important than the rights of the victims?

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.

The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC,the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.

A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill.

If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website

If the gov't is allowed to open our mail because of some thing bush signed, I'm out of here. It is closely resembling GUSTAPO tactics with this president, and if we're lucky, he'll not be around too much longer to hurt the American public anymore. Maybe this Congress won't be such a bunch of LD's that they let bush muscle his way onto us. Whatever happened to political activists who helped protect the unsuspecting public about the Constitutionality of our Postal Service: Our telephone lines; Our right to Privacy: Our Civil Rights???

Is it true that Ishmael and Hagar of the original true promise while Isaac and Sara are not? and are Americans who covert becoming Ishmaelite and sons of Hagar instead of Sara and Isaac? This kind of cr*p is done all the time. Perhaps certian software giants donate large amounts of money to medical research. Then those research companies go and spend it on over priced software.

Doesn't this somehow subvert the democratic process. If we as people vote for certian taxes why should someone spend those taxes trying to get them lowered and then write it off?

If anyone is in favour of capital punishment shouldn't they witness the actual death of a convicted person in order that they can truly see the whole process and truly get to know what is involved. So may people, myself included, are in favour of the death penalty for heinous crimes but are ignorant as to how it affects everyone.

I have been ill for ten years. Have 3 Dr.s who have declared Iam fully disabled. She has made my life hell for 10 yrs.Now she just gave me a partial decision that cuts out all my back pay. This is above disbelief and she is causing me severe depression, anger, pain and hate.I have never felt hate before. She is dishonest and has no respect for ill people.I have lived without income, become sicker and how do I get the money Iam entited to? I think I had a lawyer who did not perform well and this is such a crushing situation. Is there anyone who can tell me how to get justice? And to be treated like all the other people who have received benifits for fibromyalgia which causes chronic pain and fatigue. I thought of the media but I need someone well known for helping people with a passion which comes from the heart. May all have a happy, healthy New Year!

This my situation: my restaraunt is being sued because it does not accomodate to handicapped correctly. It has been a while and I have not kept up with building laws. The person suing me is also a lawyer who has over one hundred cases, where he goes around and sues small restaraunts to what I feel is to make a quick buck. Supposedly, he sent us a letter. We did not recieve the letter, we suspect that the tenants who we are leasing the restaraunt to must have thrown it away. Should I setttle with him because lawyer charges are too much? He wants a good sum of money and lawyer charges will be more than the cost of just settling with him but I feel it is morally wrong that this man is going around and suing just to make a quick buck. Any suggestiosn?

My car was stolen but the police were able to catch the thief. In the process of stealing my car the crook broke my ignition.

I know I am lucky to have my car back and am thankful to the police for catching whoever did it however I would still like the person who broke my ignition to pay for it.

The guy at the police station told me that there was no way they would give me the person's name and that I should just forget it and pay for the ignition myself.

Is this true, that someone can steal your car, damage it, and make you pay for the tow after it is recovered but not be liable for anything? It seems like a pretty lame system if that is the case.
