I make/sell boxes, can I make a deductable cash donation to a charity that spends 90%of it's budget on boxes?

This kind of cr*p is done all the time. Perhaps certian software giants donate large amounts of money to medical research. Then those research companies go and spend it on over priced software.

Donations are allowed as deductions from taxable income. Thus, big companies must donate some of their income to charity in order to help poor people.
