If the gov't is allowed to open our mail because of some thing bush signed, I'm out of here. It is closely resembling GUSTAPO tactics with this president, and if we're lucky, he'll not be around too much longer to hurt the American public anymore. Maybe this Congress won't be such a bunch of LD's that they let bush muscle his way onto us. Whatever happened to political activists who helped protect the unsuspecting public about the Constitutionality of our Postal Service: Our telephone lines; Our right to Privacy: Our Civil Rights???
IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH this f---ing lunactic!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever happened to political activists? I have put together a group for Postal Workers called Postal Workers United Against Tyranny at www.postalworkersunited.blogspot.com for anyone who works for the USPS and is opposed to this craziness.

For the rest of you, please for the love of god use whatever groups you belong to to bring pressure against Congress for this nightmare!

A lot of conservatives are trying to brush this aside saying they could ALWAYS open your mail.

True, except they needed a WARRANT, which Bush has eliminated.

Don't ever believe a Repub when they talk about freedom. It's always just the opposite.

Mails are personal matters and the government had no right to open. Only those suspected of illegal activities should be subject to opening of their mails but this must be supported with court orders.

Don't go jumping to conclusions........you just saw the story on the news. That doesn't make it fact! Research it and THEN form an opinion and act accordingly.

Folks...too often do I see people going off half-****** over a story on the six-o'clock news. Keep in mind that it is their job to stir you up. Research those stories that trouble you. Don't let the media think for you or you play right into their hands.

if you're using a service paid for and run by the federal gov't, and then they make a law concerning the way they operate that business, that's a contract you enter into when you use the mail system. you could use fedex or something. i wouldn't worry about it, i'm positive Bush doesn't care about your mail.

"gustapo"? you mean "gestapo"?

come on sweetheart, if we are going to make accusations, lets at least spell out insults correctly.

what do you mean "start to"? the government has been authorized to open our mail if it is "reasonably suspicious" for quite a while... im sure you have no problem with USPS screening our mail for explosives, or is that "unconstitutional" as well. by all means, petition all you want for the government to get out of your mail. just give me your mailing address first, i have a present for you.
