So the right of these men to remain anonymous is more important than the protection of the public? This kind of thing makes me fume. They want to make it harder to re-capture them, then?
I think the Police, and all Authorities are treading a difficult line, but things should be more clear-cut; You break the law, you forfeit your rights. With rights come responsibilities. I'm sick of hearing about criminals getting compensation because they fell through someone's glass roof etc, or of teachers being sacked because they finally had enough of some taunting kid and gave him a slap.
We've inherited the compensation culture from the US, so everyone treads carefully and things are going to extremes (eg palm trees in Torquay being removed in case they poke someone in the eye), but the US seem to be pretty hard on their criminals. We should follow suit. There's even a proposal now, I see, to give prisoners the right to vote...
As I said: you break the law, sunshine, it means you step outside the rules of society and you give up society's rights, in my view.

If we were a few years back, their pictures would have been put up on television and the killers probably caught immediately with the help of the general public. Why is that so evil and politically incorrect???? That's how it should be. The killers shouldn't have escaped from prison in the first place, but I suppose it was one of those namby-pamby open prisons where trust is the buzzword and nobody tries to leg it. It's time we took some of the human rights away from killers whilst they are serving their sentences. Being bunged up for murder makes a person a second class citizen in my mind so it's only right that they only have second-class human rights too.

How stupid is that? Breach their human rights?...they are convicted criminals...they shouldn't have that right...or hardly any rights at all. Forget their rights. The police have a civic duty to protect the civilians...the people that aren't locked up behind bars...or who should be in this matter. The police need to release those photos so the families are safe and so that the civilians can notify the police if these men are seen.

Oh yeah but when someone is accused of a crime they dont hesitate to put his face all over the news do they. They may even be innocent but their face is all over the place and their lives ruined. But let some creepy murderers escape from police then we have to worry about thier rights. What about our rights to be safe in our own homes?

It does seem strange, so the public can't help in finding them.
But in these times of PC'ness nothing would or does surprise me.
I like the comment about 'compensation culture being inherited from the ''good ol' usa''.

i don't understand why criminals believe they have rights. I believe once you have broken the law, you give up your rights. If a teenager was grounded and protested for rights to do...whatever, would any one care? NO. They made the decision to do the wrong thing and now they have to pay for it.
