I wrote them and got statements and sent them a letter indicating how much they owed me. They wrote back on the 14th day saying that they will look into it but it will take some time. I belive there is a timescale on when they must sort this out. How long should i wait for them to get back, is it 40 days? If they dont reply, what should I do then? Thanks

My ex had a case last year for indirectly killing someone DUI. I don't know what the sentence was, I was out of the country when it all happened. He had been saying maybe he'd just get house arrest. I don't even know what that is, and I let some time pass, but I know his email address is now gone, so clearly I can't contact him. Is there any way I can find out what happened to him? All I know is the date of his final appeal case and the date on which the incident happened.

My fiance and I are getting married tomorrow. To make it legal on Tuesday we had to apply for a marriage license. We asked the court house not to put it in the local paper, and they gave us a name at the newspaper office of a person to talk to about it. He was not in so we left him a note with our names and phone number and what we had stopped to see him about. For two days we hear nothing from him. This morning I called and he told me that it was not his department and transferred me to a female. I explained to her and she said that they were publishing it anyway because we don't have a good enough reason to have it not published and that it was a public matter and they have the right to publish it even though we requested that they not do so. Is it against our rights as U.S. citizens for them to do this? Is there anything I can do about it? Can I call a lawyer and sue them for this?

I always use my seatbelt. I make my kids buckle up before I even put my car into gear. Some people feel that wearing seatbelts may do more harm than good. I don't condem anyone who chooses not to wear one, unless they are in my car.
Where I live, the police and other law enforcment can only site you for not wearing your seatbelt when they have stopped you for some other traffic violation.
But the other day I heard on the news where they were wanting to pass a law where they could stop you when they see that you're not wearing the seatbelt.
I by no means am complaining; but what happened to the helmet law? Please tell me what is the difference?

If you're an atheist, testifying in a US court of law, and you swear on the Holy Bible to tell the truth is your oath worth anything? Are there other ways of swearing people in? Just curious, thanks for the insight.

Our building was partly destroyed today in the winds. I work for a doctors surgery. The fire exits are completely blocked by bricks and damaged cars that will not be removed until sometime tomorrow. Is it legal for staff and patients to be in this building?

Someone please prove to a Pro-Lifer like myself that Pro-Choicers are really for choice?! I mean if they were they would want equal rights for all those involved right? I mean all im getting right now from pro choicers is that they selfishly only want a choice for the mother and not the father nor the baby.

I am in a custody/ divorce battle, and my attorney is getting a little too "friendly" with me. When I went into his office to discuss my upcoming mediation he kept commenting on how beautiful I was. He says he doesn't know why my husband cheated and that he is such a fool. The comments are more frequent now, and I'm getting bad vibes. I am frustrated because I have spent a lot of time and money and don't feel like changing attorneys mid-way. I also want good representation and don't want to p*** him off. What should I say and/ or how do I handle this?

I'm commencing with my first year LLB (Law studies in South Africa) in a few days and I'm quite nervous. I am intelligent and I achieved outstanding results in Matric(final year of highschool in South Africa) yet I can't help feeling insecure. How challenging is it really? Obviously it's not nearly as hard as Engineering or Medicine etc.? Is it realistic to presume that because I had distinctions in everything during highschool that university will be relatively smooth sailing?

I got the memo about putting the new covers on the TPS reports, but must have missed this one.

I thought that once a case is settled that I wouldn't have to put up the insurance company continuing to harrass me. They had all these years to do their discovery and object to my injury and treatment since 1999. Do I have to sign a medical information release now? Do I have to provide a list of the doctors I have see for the last 10 years. They want my personal physicians records totally unrelated to my injury. Please tell me what obligations I have since I will be under treatment for the rest of my life. Does this also mean I will have them harrassing me for the rest of my life as well? Thanks for you time.

I payed CSA direct from earnigs in 1997 which made me bankrupt in 1998 and i lost everything, house, bank account the lot. Hence CSA payments stopped. Now 11 years later I have built a new family morgage etc and they are asking me to pay £19300, which I cant afford to pay. With todays interest rates etc my wages are maxed out. Its not that i dont want to pay even tho i dont know where my daughter is and not seen her since she was 2. I would like my daughter to back in my life. And it was the mother who spit the family by having an relation ship with another man at the same time. We where not married. why didnt they contact me before? I have not been hiding! or avoiding CSA they just stopped collecting. Now they are threting me with baliffs, direct from earnings, everything. Its the first time I have heard from them and i am dammed if they are going to destroy my family now.

I recently purchased an item which required delivery by a courier. It was delivered via the backyard door which is always locked when I was at work and was left in the yard.
When I returned home I found the package, but also found that the door to the yard had been forced, damaging the surrounding brickwork connected to the door frame.
The door will not lock. I rung the courier and they told me the driver found the door in this state when he delivered the parcel which I find coincidental and he denies any wrong doing.
If it was not him, then why would someone else when they can jump over the wall with little problem, and also, why leave the parcel in the yard if the door was already in this state when there policy is not to leave items that are in an unsecured enviroment. Please help if you can. I know I need proof that he actually did this but it all seems very coincidental to me.

I know this guy that is wanting to go into a very unsafe neighborhood for our area. I am not discriminating, but based on crime and violence rates compared to other parts of our county, it is the least safe. He is "not scared" of anyone or anything, but the guy is a potential target because drives a mercedes and would be considered a minority in the area. This guy refuses to listen to anyone regarding his safety. We are only trying to help him, and he thinks we are discriminating. Do you know anything i might can do or say to try and stop him?
