Yes, but Social Security generally tallies in the amount of the income if the spouse is working. The best thing to do is contact SS at their toll free number.... 1800-772-1213.

It seems there's as general purge of SSI recipients all over the US as extremist politicians have been elected to gov and as legislators. I'm not sure abt SSI, but Medicaid is a joint state-fed program and on the state side these pols are looking for ways to make points with their voters by "reducing the budget." The admin of G.W. Bush did the same thing on the fed level, and just did blanket dumpings of ppL off the roles regardless of their need. Then the admin cut the budget for appeals' personel so the appeals took unacceptably long. There were ppL like you who had been on SSI 10 yrs and suddenly they'r found not disabled by the govt docs even tho they have tons of documenation of their disablility. Many of these ppl suddenly classified as not disabled also lose access to Medicaid which is one of the biggest items in state budgets. This is how this type of politician "reduces the budget and lowers taxes." This goes back at least to the Reagan admin when his handlers ordered the funding cut off for mental hospitals. The scam was that the Reagan ppl said, "Oh, these hospitals are just warehouses, how awful. We'll "REFORM" that and set up community care centers. Of course, the centers were never set up, that would cost too much, so the mentally ill ppL were literally dumped in the street. That's the orgin of todays' homeless prob.

If you're married, you're disabled. So 'yes' is the answer.

Absolutely. If you qualify as having a disability, your marital status does not matter.
