Good question - it should all be treated the same. Many people comment on hair colour and jokes about blonde hair seem pretty much accepted by most people. However as soon as it turns to skin colour it is completely different. It should be one rule for all.

If you dislike someone just on the basis of their skin colour or having a beard is a pretty shallow thing to do. It also shows a bit of a lack of intelligence.

However if they are fat, smelly, ugly, loud, rich, short and extremely stupid....then it is ok to hate Jade Goody.

Because ignorance of human nature accounted to many hundred yrs of slavery, robbing nations due to colour as saw these people closer to monkeys. (lower beings.) Now we understanding different hence this legal thing is a rebalance for the past. The same would be if only smelly people were slaves we would see that as illegal.

Because the people that are fat, smelly, skinny, quiet, loud, bearded, and stupid can do something about it.

The ones that are ugly, rich, poor, tall, smart, short, and colored can't do anything about it.

To dislike is just an opinion, it may be bigotted but it is not illegal. it becomes illegal when you actively discriminate or attack a person on the basis of their colour, gender, sexuality, disability etc. It is not what you think but how you act that makes the difference. This is why the lesson keep your opinions to yourself should be adhered to.

I don't know why, your motive shouldn't affect the crime. This crime legislation is illogical and a savage hypocrisy since all crimes are based on some kind of hate, and inflicting worse punishments for crimes against certain groups simply works to promote the idea that these groups are separate and not the same.

Because a lot of people have been brainwashed into thinking that calling someone the "N" word is the biggest crime in the world and racism is the worst thing in the world to be accused of. Its a joke.

You may dislike/insult/offend someone because of their color, legally. You may not damage their property or person, however.
