Did our California Governor do something about this? I thought I read an article that states that the minimum wage (in California) was going up to 7.50 an hour on or around Jan 1 2007 and then by Jan 1, 2008 it will be 8 an hour? Is this correct? I know some people think that if it goes up it is bad and will create unemployment, but that is not my question. I will save that for another day. Thanks!

If someone dies after ordering stuff on the internet then dies. Should I sign the UPS or send it back. You can clearly tell who the x-mas present was for. Would there be anything bad legally that would happen to me?

Ok here it is. I fell in love with a woman who cheated on me. She is mentally disabled, has no car nor liscence, says I must pay child support before a d.n.a. test is performed. The mother says I dont stand a chance to obtain soul physical custody or even joint custody. I only want fairness. I have my own home, 5 vehicles, I am very inteligent, have no criminal reccord, I do not collect mental dissability, If I had soul custody I would not have to ask her for child support nor would I have to apply for welfare like she has. My question is do I stand a chance to obtain soul physical custody while the child is 3 months old? Or even at any age? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

i recently found myself in the situation of having my car stolen, it was recovered the same night, but however in a condition that was undrive-able. i later found myself 3 days later to be paying out £191 for my car because it had been in a garage awaiting the police to finger print it, £50 for scaping, £36 for 3 days storage and £105 of this was for the police for dealing with the matter, how is this fair why should i have to pay this out!? Its unfair to me, i lose my car then have to pay £12 a day for it to sit in a garage while it waits to be finger printed!!

A course was booked for but no conditions were verbalised or in writing.Credit card details were given for booking but not for charging of the fees.Nothing was signed for.I was not able to attend and the fees were deducted and now they wont return the fees and the owner is the only one who can authorise a return. He is always unavailible and no message is getting through. They are avoiding me as much as possible. Is there a specific organisation which one could report this to.

Is it right to take away the freedom of choice for those who choose to smoke so that others can have theirs? And for those of you who will bring out the health issues I can and will, if forced, produce the mind boggling stats of obesity, cancer, drunk driver fatalities, abortion, and so many other things that can end our lives that have nothing to do with smoking.

My ex is in the Macomb County jail and I am interested in sending him a letter. We are both currently with other people and I don't want to cause any issues for either of us. If I send something to him, will other prisoners read it and cause issues for my ex? Also, if he sends me something will it be obvious on the envelope that it is delivered in that it comes from the jail or can it be delivered w/o a return address? Are there any rules (implied or real) about what one should/shouldn't write to an inmate?

Our past pres. overthrew the Bd of Directors who were in office because he gained support in the building to do that . Once in office he "fired" everyone saying ..they were doing a bad job. He fired the proeprty mgt co. who had just signed a renewal contract for 3 years with the previous Bd. The old property mg tcompany is suing the corporation (us) for $200,00 stating "no just cause for terminating the contract". We have hired a lawyer and they are thinking about "personally suing the Pres" for his actions as he just acted . It will cost me and the other owners for all the legal work in a "special assessment fee of $3000 per unit " to cover legal costs for our PRes mistakes. The Pres has not been re-elected and he now says he was out of the country and gave the matter to his DIrector who walked into the office and "fired " the Property Mgt Co. The other director is at fault and he will sue him if he is personally sued. Is all this legal ????

i really don't see a decent argument of adultery being legal.

marriage is a social "contract", and if two people pledge to each other that they will be faithful to one another, then by breaking that contract, you extremely effect the other's life (in a negative way).

wouldn't people think twice if they had to pay 10,000 dollars for sleeping around?

I live in British Columbia but was exposed to asbestos in Ontario during the late 60s and early 70s. The Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WS&IB) is saying that I have no entitlement. The WS&IB has accepted asbestos related pleural disease but will not accept the diagoses of asbestosis. Do I have any options?
