I think its absoutely ridiculous in this country (uk)...you cant say this you cant say that...in case it offends other religions....the whole point of christmas is to celebrate christs birth that why its called CHRISTmas....if other religions are offended by it they shouldnt be celebrating it in the first place...and they also shouldnt be taking the CHRISTmas season as holiday from work either...if they dont like it then they shouldnt have anything to with it. What...they all go around saying "oh its an offence to our religion', but they still wanna get presents and have the days off???hypocrites. they have to have all their festivals...this is an ENGLISH country we can celebrate whatever we want HOW we want whether they like it or not.

Hi,
Well having lived and worked in the Mid-East for many a year, I have worked Christmas day, and observed Ramadan.
That seemed correct to me.
I agree that as a basically Christian country, similar observations be made from other faiths.
Each to their own, but I respect the traditional values and religions of the country that I am a guest of.
Or even a resident. I am a natural Brit, yet hold Omani nationality also. My wife is African. We all get on well, and respect the local religions & culture.
So no problem, until some folks refuse to operate on a Friday, due to beleifs.
I think that if I took up being not only a Christian, but also incorporated Judaism & Islam, and went to live in Jerusalem, I could have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off work on faith grounds.
There's the rub !
Happy Whatnots,
Bob.

If you mean the UK - we are a christian country (although not all are Christians) as our official church is the Church of England. We are so politically correct because our government allows and encourages what I see as a tacky form of a pseudo-moral cross between bullying and blackmail that allows small minded bigots to disparage our morals and traditions. I believe this is surely not in the best interests of the indigent population to allow once alien cultures to celebrate that culture whilst decrying and discouraging any celebration of the native culture. We should all have equal opportunity to enjoy individual traditions while accepting the inherent responsibility not to offend others. Multiculturalism is a two way street. The only one way street in town is oppression. Just an opinion!

Hey, who says you have to be politically correct? You decide what to say and think and do, not some passive flimsy strand of spaghetti that bends in whatever direction the sheeple are bending. A guy said Happy Hanukah to me yesterday, and I had no problem with it ( I am not Jewish but was in a heavily Jewish area ). If people are so concerned about being politically correct, we can just abolish our rights to free speech, freedom of expression, etc. If you are on one belief, and you take offense at a friendly holiday greeting, then get the hell out of the USA and go to where ever YOUR people are, and you can stick your head in the sand there. That way, you won't see the world is diverse and not everyone is like you, thank God (or Elvis, or ET, or anything else you care to ).

Religion isn't Politics. It shouldn't be anyway. Bush Sr. spoke about the new world order 20 years ago. Here we are. You think it's bad now? Wait 4 years, and we'll have The North American Union. I know you're going to hate that. We all will. If we, the people, set ideally by and do nothing, we all get what we deserve.

Don't believe what the Daily Mail and the Sun tell you. This reporting of unnecessary OTT PC is just to discredit the laws that are there to protect us. Just like the police overreacting to situations where they claim there is a breach of civil liberties so that they and the other knobheads can blame the very laws that protect us from them! Don't let them get away with it - stand up for your rights.

i think of you reside in a parallel universe. "Black" is an formally acknowledged ethnicity that seems on census types and type surveys in the united kingdom. there are lots of English people who're additionally black, and that i've got in no way come during an English person of any color who does not call black human beings "black". maximum human beings do no longer, even regardless of the indisputable fact that, consult with somebody else's color whilst it is not significant. So i'd say "an extremely type guy helped me with my figuring out to purchase", yet I in all risk does no longer say "an extremely type black guy helped me with my figuring out to purchase", because of the fact his color is far less proper than the actuality that he replaced into type. i do no longer think of that's "political correctness" lots because of the fact the actuality that maximum human beings do no longer particularly care that lots what color different human beings are. particularly, dermis color is generally the least interesting element approximately yet another guy or woman, so it in basic terms gets suggested through folk who're stricken through it.

You may consider the country Christian but you should also consider the undeniable fact that it is controlled by Jews! Also remember that Political correctness and hypocrisy differ only in the spelling!
