Should Governments be allowed to prohibit or proscribe the gathering of natural substances?

Have the public an alienable right to gather shellfish, mushrooms, berries, fish, roots etc. from the common lands? (Regulation of commerical exploitation and protection of private property interests by ownership laws is not prohibition.)

The UK Government has proscribed certain mushrooms and may remove the right to collects shellfish and to fish for white fish from the shore. Inshore fishing requires a licence as does some forms of hunting, and hunting with dogs is prohibited.

I am a new assistant manager at a cafe. One of my first big duties from the manager, is to fire an employee. I have no problem doing it, but I do not feel it is really ethical. For one, she has migraine headaches at work sometimes but will stay at work and throw up in the bathroom. She will try to do it on her breaks and lunch but sometimes she has to run to the bathroom suddenly. On some occasions, my manager has told me "Go see if shes faking or not" and I have to pretend Im going to the bathroom and see if I hear her throwing up. Which I do, and crying sometimes.

My manager met with me, and said that she is not productive enough. She has missed no days but due to taking "unscheduled" breaks, about five minutes once a day, he says he can find someone better. I mean, she has a medical condition? I dont know if I feel ethical doing this, he didnt even meet with her beforehand or anything. What should I do?

OK, This is my first time EVER being in trouble with the law, I know I made a mistake, I am charged with a level 7 felony for 1 count of Forgery. I was granted diversion, however after learning of all the ridiculous costs involved, including driving an hour evey week to take classes that I cannot afford, I am not going to be able to pay any money. I am already in debt with everyday life and do not see this working.

My question is Will I go to jail or maybe probabtion if I do not pay back any of the 300.00 dollars I stole? And what are my rights on all this?

I am very poor and my public defender has not returned my calls.

Smoking is legal. Drinking is legal. It's hypocritical. People should be able to make their own conclusions on what they consume in their bodies. If drugs were legal they would be safer because they would be regulated and our justice system would be able to focus on more important crimes such as rape and murder instead of dealing with drug users who are hurting no one but themsevles. (which they know and consent to)

She plans on quitting soon but she has been jipped out of so much money... can she report this to anyone or do something about it?? thanks

I worked for 20 hours and did not recieve my paycheck. I work at a small buisness. When I was first hired there were no negotiations made about when or how I would get paid. Later my boss mentiond to fill out a time card and I would get paid every friday. I have forgotten to fill out a time card before--as I get so consumed with work--but the old bookeeper would pay me just the same. I always work the same days. And since there are only two employees, whenever the other one does not work, I HAVE to work those hours.
Well, without my knowledge the boss fired the old bookeeper, and I accidently forgot to fill out my timecard again. My boss did the paychecks on friday, and I did not get my paycheck as per normal when I walked into work on Saturday morning.
I called the other girl who works here to see where my paycheck was, and she said rather rudely, "you did not fill out a time card". Since she was here in the same room when the boss was doing the paychecks, that means that the....

In recent years, the penalty for selling illegal drugs has been increased sharply. How does that affect the incentive to sell drugs? For the people who decide to sell drugs anyway, what do the higher penalties for dealing do to their incentive to commit other crimes (such as murder ) while they are engaged in selling drugs?
