I used their greed to manipulate them and played a cat and mouse game for months. It was fun teasing them. They didn't have a clue. I shuffled them around the globe on many occasions. It was fun. I subtly led them to believe that I had a lot of money. They finally got fed up with me and gave up. It was pay back for all the scam email they sent.

This is primarily one of a whole variety of e-mail scams and doesn't usually involve any personal appearance. What they are after is banking information, not cash. If they get the banking information, then they will try to get payments made for handling costs or bribes or whatever to get the money out of the country. Most of these originate in Europe but use phony Nigerian e-mail server and ISP addresses. Why Nigeria? Who knows? It's tradition. Along the same line are the e-mails about trying to sneak money out of Nigeria where they try to solicit the victim to be the partner and promise a share of millions. Just don't mess with them at all but tell everyone you can NOT to believe get rich quick ideas in e-mail.

. What to do is make your own demands such as you want their info up front. Ask stupid questions like what are your likes and dislikes where they went to high school , pets etc. Make them think you will send the info they want in the morning. I even ask for their bank pin number. Make no mistake that you are incharge .I mess with these nigers all the time too. It just a scam so you know they lairs. I said how could I be related to a niger if I never been to niger. He said that is not a problem because he is a bank insider and this dead guy has 12.5 million and this bank person in niger doles it out to whoever the hell he finds on the internet to answer his email and send him all they banking account numbers so he can wire you the money. People do fall for it .

Google the Nigerian scam. A few people have done what you are suggesting and had some fun. I did it for a while too, but got bored.

As soon as you answer with some legitimate sounding information they will slowly divulge more information about themselves. Be very careful about what you disclose. Go to the link below and be sure to read the 6th section of the link, "A Dangerous Scam".

Good hunting. Have fun.

Tell them you have assigned half of the money of the inheritance to your local police department as a donation (you are of course, independently wealthy and can do this type of thing) and the department will be there as well to help in the collection. CC a letter to the police department informing them of your donation and tell them you'll do everything you can to help them get their money!

If you're looking into Scambaiting (baiting a scammer), look at the 419 Eaters. They've already written a book about the hundreds they've fooled.

open a bank acct with no money & share the account with them.

U might also want to open it with a fax SSN.

when they ask for money, send them monopoly money...they love that.

catching them would be expensive cuz you'll hafta fly to Nigeria, and then pay a bunch of bribes to get in
